We are all sitting quietly at a picnic table, but out of all of us, Mal seems to be the most upset.
"Hey guys!" Ben says walking up to us.
Mal doesn't acknowledge him.
He walks over, holding her shoulders.
"I'm sorry about what happened yesterday guys." He says.
I nod.
"I have to go." Ben says quietly to Mal.
She doesn't move, doesn't reply, she just looks down at her hands.
Mal is taking yesterday hard.
Then Jane and Audrey walk over to her.
"How long did she think that would last?" Audrey asks Jane.
Jane laughs.
"Yeah. Its not like he would make a villain a queen." Jane says.
We all look at Mal, she look like she is about to snap.
When they leave Mal looks through her spell book.
We all stare at her, confused and scared.
She starts to speak.
"Beware forswear undue Jane's hair." She says.
She does some movement with her hand, then , screaming and laughing erupts from the crowd of girls.
Mal stands and looks at them.
"Do not talk to me or my friends like that again. Or there is more where that came from." Mal threatens.
I'm glad she is standing up to them, but it was surprising she is defending all of us too.
"Who do you think you are?" Audrey asks angrily.
Mal snaps.
"Do you think I'm kidding!?" Mal shouts.
She starts looking through her spells and they all run for cover, almost literally.
Mal turns around.
"Let's blow this popscicle stand." She says.
We all fall in toe with her and we walk down the path.
Third person
That night, the four of them didn't sleep.
Carlos stared at Dude sadly.
I won't let my mom get you.
He thinks.
Jay get up out of bed, and looks at the trophy from the game that the team let him keep.
