Evie

Today I wake up, but not in my bed.

I wake up in a cell.

Where am I?

Jay and Carlos are also in the cell with me.

Across from us is Ben in his own cell.

"Evie! Your awake. Did Mal make it?" He asks.

I nod.

Mal, where did she sleep last night?

"Do you know anything about where she is right now?" He asks.

I shake my head.

"She has my mirror. I enchanted it so that she could use it." I say.

I frowns.

"Good for her. But for us, we have no idea where she is." He points out.

Jay stirs.

"Mal!" He shouts as he wakes up.

"Jay! It was just a nightmare." I say calming her down.

"I saw her. She was in the woods. She was asleep, leaning on a tree. Then some guys were coming near her, and she ran, taking everything with her. I heard a scream, then I woke up." He says.

I stare at him.

In all the confusion Carlos has now woken up.

"Does anyone wonder if Mal enchanted the bracelets?" Carlos asks, blinking sleep out of his eyes.

I stare at him.

What got him wondering that?

"I just though, why leave us the bracelets and nothing else." He says.

I nod.

It ssounds like something Mal would try.

"I have an idea. I read through Mal's spells and saw one for using multiple enchanted things to contact someone who has one of the enchanted items." I say.

I lead them through it.

We all connect the bracelets so that its in a pattern.

"Mal? Can you hear us?" I ask.

No answer.

"Mal? Can you hear us?" Jay chants along with me.

At one point, we hear something.

"Guys? You found out how to use the bracelets!" Mal says happily.

We can't see her, but we can hear her.

"Hey. Tell the others I'm good. And I will finish this soon. But I have to go now or I'll be caught. Say hi to Ben for me." She says, then our bracelets stop shimmering.
