"Its surprising that you are taking this so well, usually all the girls I know, are either over-reacting or making it a huge issue. You intrigue me Diana." says James with a small smile.
Oh yeah. They might as well be the school hobos that he hangs around with! Or more like they practically drool over him. Who cares anyways!?
I give him my most disgusting fake smile when my Mom leaves to bring the food from the kitchen. I give him a look that I hope said 'You better eat your freaking food and leave my house'.
"Well, she somehow seems to get herself some trouble when trouble ignores her!" my Mom says with a bored voice.
"Yes, I think I already witnessed it. I don't mind though, considering she is my pretty little girlfriend." he says with his eyebrows raised and a shrug of his shoulders.
OH NO. NOW WTH IS HE THINKING TO INVOLVE ME IN WHATEVER SCAM HE IS!?
At this as expected, my Mom practically appears in front of us with a disbelieving look and a slowly forming smile on her face, a bowl of mashed potatoes in her hands. I catch hold of his wrist and drag him out of his chair and into the hallway.
Once we are in the hallway, I whisper-yell at him, "Okay, WTH do you think you are doing?? Wiggling your way into my life? Whatever is your reason behind doing all this, stop playing such pranks on me!!! Go find some ho for yourself and get her to do whatever you want!"
"Whoa, easy tiger!" he responds with an amused smile and a half of a smirk. " Don't you want to know why I'm doing all this? I mean common, atleast show some love, girls die for such attention from me."
Blistering Barnacles! Does he seriously expect me to bow in front of him and be greatful for his merciful attention towards me? LIKE HELL I WOULD!
I take a glance behind me to make sure my Mom doesn't witness any of this. Take a deep breath Diana, you'll sort this out.
"Look, I could care less for you and your shenanigans. Just leave me alone after this lunch." I say glaring at his nose seriously. I dont think I have the time and strength to take a swim in his eyes that are more like two deep Grey oceans.
"Oh I'll leave you alone alright, but only if you agree to help me out. Afterall, you need to even out our bar of favours, dont you think?" he says with what I can detect if not sure though, a slither of hope in his voice.
Okay. Maybe I do need to return his favour, but doesnt this lunch count as my thanks to him? Ofcourse it doesn't sweety, it was your Mom who asked him to stay for lunch! Oh. Great.
I narrow my eyes and look at him suspiciously before asking, "Okay. I'll hear you out, and then tell you if I'm ready to help you in this matter that you want me to."
I have to be cautious obviously. James is not someone who would ask for homework or an assignment to return the favour. And the way he dragged me into the whole girlfriend thing, I doubt there is anything else that he wants me to help him with.
He sighs, "Fine. You...Miss Diana Hart, will have to be my girlfriend for the next three weeks. I want you to do this, because... " he shrugs and continues, "well, because you are cute and fiesty and you wouldn't be clingy seeing how much you hate me apparently."
As James finishes, my Mom calls out from the dining table to come and join her or the food would get cold. I give a short reply and return my attention to the elephant in the room.
Why would he want me out of all to be his girlfriend? I mean yes, surely I'd never even fancy him like he says, but why not the other girls who genuinely are interested in short term relationships?
"I'll think about it and tell you the answer by the time lunch is over. And do not think of even forcing me if my answer is going to be no. And no messing with my Mom's head with all this!" I give him a glare with my eyebrows raised.
"Fine. No pressure, Ana. But just so you know, I don't give up trying that easily. I won't force you, but I won't leave you. You are too fun to not to talk to." he winks at me and strolls proudly towards the dining table.
I close my eyes for a minute, and follow him to see that they both are already seated and chatting away happily. I hope I can clear this mess and not get into more of it.
Gahh!! Help me God.
