Sam's POV

Being locked up in a car going 60 mph with a girl like Delancey is really difficult. And here I thought McKenna and Britany were.

"So you just take this left then a right. And you're there."I said.

"Alright." replied Eli.

"Hey Sam, how do you know Eli?" asked Delancey.

"I don't know him." I replied looking out the window still. Okay, so we're going into the neighborhood, now we need to take the right, and go down three houses.

"Oh, okay then. So what's your gpa?"

"4.895."

"Wow! You are really smart. I'm not the brightest or the dumbest, but I am maintaining my 3.8 pretty good."

"Cool."

"Okay, which house?"

"Okay. You see that stop sign? Stop... and turn right. Shoulds be the third house over."

"Gee, thanks. I didn't that I had to STOP at the STOP sign!" Eli said.

"Youre welcome." Eli pulled into my driveway, and I opened the door.

"Yeah, thanks for the ride, have fun eating ice cream and uh...Eli? See you tomorrow? I guess." I said awkwardly.

"Yeah." he replied equal awkwardness,

"Nice to meet you Sam!"smiled Delancey. "And sorry about acting the way I did." Delancey got out of the car and continued, "I guess I'm a little protective. Eli and I grew up together and when my family moved to Maine, we lost touch."

"It's fine. Doesn't concern me." I said.

"Uh... Sam?" Delancey said nervously.

"Yeah?"

"Can I use your bathroom?" she whispered.

"Yeah sure go-"

"You little bitch! What are you doing here!" yelled a voice. I looked to my left and saw McKenna getting out of a car with Alex, and Britany. Eli killed the engine and got out.

"What is going on?"I said confused.

"Please you two. Don't do this...McKenna...Delancey..."

"Shut up Eli! I have nothing against you or anything of that sort. But her? It's her fault-" Mckenna began.

"Of course it is," Delancey sarcastically agreed, "everything is my fault right? You little miss perfect, do nothing wrong. Oh please, you have everything to do with what happened as much as I do."

"Me? I didn't cause the accident." McKenna snarled.

"Who the hell do you think you are? People like you stick, when will you get out of our lives?!" Delancey screamed.

"I don't know who the hell you think you are to tell me that I can't be in my best friend's life. You have been coming here what, every time your school lets out for break? And every time do you know where Eli's been? With me, that's right. You think he'll follow your every wish? You think he'll leave me for you? Think again because you are the type of girl Eli can't stand the most. A spineless, dependent girl, who has no mind of her own! What did you do when you saw Eli huh? I bet my whole life's savings that you jumped on him." McKenna scoffed harshly at her.

This is getting a bit uneasy for me, I slowly walked over to where Alex and Britany are and the three of us stood there awkwardly.

"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP, SHUT UP! You don't know anything!" Delancey screamed.

"What exactly don't I know." challenged McKenna.

"EVERYTHING!" she screamed, so loud, so high pitch, with such sadness.Common knowledge to stop, but McKenna pushed right on through. Not stopping.

"That is a big lie. I know that you caused the accident, I know that you are obsessed with Eli, I know that-"

A beat. A loud, long, beat of a second passed as we all tried to comprehend what just happened. The scene played through my head like a song; Delancey slapped McKenna.

"What. The. Hell." McKenna said, her eyes flaring you could see the fire in hereyes, the rage in her soft feature face.

"Holy," Eli said as he took McKenna by the arms.

"You son of a bitch! People like you are the ones who stick! People like you are the ones who no one likes but must bare with. PEOPLE LIKE YOU RUIN LIVES!"

Delancey stood there, I could tell she was trying to hold back tears.

"McKenna stop it!"

"See, he stood up for me, he doesn't hate me." Delancey's voice wavered. Delancey looked at McKenna, wiped her tears, looked atraight into her eyes and said,"Where is the satisfaction in the end? What do you want from me exactly? In the end what do you want to happen? For me to die? For me to disappear out of your perfect, little, world? WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT FROM ME MCKENNA!"

"I want," McKenna paused for just a second. "you to leave me alone, and stop messing with the people I care about, and to go back to Maine. Why can't you just move on."

"McKenna, stop it." Eli said low and steady into her ear. "It's not worth it."

McKenna's POV

"Not worth it?" I looked at him, my eyes watering. "Not worth it?! She is the reason you were in that car accident, she injuried you and her."

"It wasn't her fault. How many times do we have to go through this McKenna," Eli said frustrated.

"Until you realize that is it her fault. Think about it. I called you because I was drunk, you know my low alcohol tolerence. I had one beer and was woozier than going on the vortex at that one carnival. Delancey was with you, you told her that you needed to pick me up, she throws a tantrum. Dude, she pulled this on us, on you! before today. Trying to break our friendship up. Her goal is to get rid of me, she hates me just as I dispise her. "

"McKenna, let's do this later-"

"Later, later later!"I said a bit louder than intended. "You always say that Eli. You have to face this game no matter the time. Okay fine, we'll do this football way to make you understand. You have the ball, I'm running down the field getting closer to the goal. You see me and pass the ball, Delancey intersects. Jumping right in front of me to get the ball, you say no big deal, we'll get another chance. You keep giving her useless chances."

"What do you want me to do then McKenna? Because I don't want to upset her." Eli said his blue eyes looking at me in desperation.

"I can't tell you what I want you to do. It's too selfish, " I said putting my hand on the middle of his arm. I looked at Delancey,"No matter how much I dispise her being I won't tell you."

"Tell me anyway because I will do whatever you say." Eli stated.

"No, it's too selfish, I will never say it." I held my ground. I want you to tell her how you feel, even if it hurts her. I want you to choose my side instead of neutral and paritally hers. I want you to-

"You might not have to tell me because I can probably guess what it is."
