Park Chaeyoung believed she was delirious.

She should have felt exhausted, drained from their concert, but she felt more alive than ever.

The stars looked down favourably upon the two of them, situated on the balcony of her hotel room.

She wondered when Jennie would return as it was getting late into the night, but a part of her also didn't want their moment alone to end.

"I still can't believe you went here," she sighed, her voice holding a certain weight. "I feel so bad."

Chaeyoung leaned on the railing, her face half-lit by the dim streetlights below, her eyes fixed on the horizon. The city stretched out before them, vast and endless.

"Wae? I came because I wanted to," he said, stepping closer.

She glanced over at him, her eyes still riddled with guilt, "But still, if I'd just responded to you, you wouldn't have gone through all the effort."

Jungkook shifted, his hands in his pocket. "Possibly, but I think I also just needed an excuse to come see you," he shrugged.

There was a pause. Chaeyoung, unsure of how to respond, let her face turn back towards the skyline.

It had been a gruelling couple of weeks, both her mind and body were feeling the pressure. His daily phone calls had certainly helped, but his sudden presence had healed her entirely. She wasn't sure what to make of this predicament.

"I was curious... and you don't have to answer if you're uncomfortable," he brought up. "Have you dated anyone before me—well, not me, but you know what I mean."

Chaeyoung chuckled as he stumbled over his words, while a gnawing feeling began to bubble inside. They were not dating, that was clear. Or was it? Anyways, she chose to push it down.

"Seriously? No. I've had a few talking stages, but none that really stuck," she responded honestly.

Some she could still recall vividly, while others muddled in through her history. It was unimportant to identify them now.

She hated to admit this, but he became her first love very early on in the industry. Everyone that came after, she thinks she was trying to find a piece of him in them. None of those relationships would have ever lasted.

"Do I want to know who they are?" he asked, avoiding her gaze.

Chaeyoung kept her eyes on him, her mind trying to understand his, "For your sake, I think it's best if you didn't."
