Sigh. Hazel sat in her room, listening to depressing breakup songs on her phone. Yes, she had a phone. Yes, she figured out how to use it. Technology these days was confusing, but Hazel managed. It made her feel better that she knew how to work it, made her feel like she was more of this generation. Though she could never fully be considered part of this new world.

Sad thoughts came rushing into her mind all at once, but only one stuck in her head. Frank. He presented the news to her this morning and quite frankly Hazel didn't know how to react to it. She had mixed of emotions; happiness and guilt. Guilt for not telling him how she truly felt.

Hazel changed the song to All You Had To Do Was Stay by Taylor Swift. This song explained her situation perfectly. She started thinking about the news. Frank was ecstatic about it, but Hazel wasn't quite sure. He told her that the military had asked him to serve, his mother being previously in it and all. This rarely happened, so that made Hazel feel even worse. She responded with glee and told him to go for it if that's what he wanted. They hugged and he went off. Now, Hazel regretted not telling him to stay. Normally Hazel would resort to going to Piper for advice but... You know.

She decided to think it out, and music was always her number one way to help. Well, at least that's what she thought. Before she could stop them, tears sprang out of her eyes, flowing down her chocolate cheeks like a river. She hated crying; she thought it made her seem weak. And being the youngest of all of the Seven didn't help with that. She kept her emotions hidden away in the closet of secrets her mind held. But now, she couldn't anymore. Songs started then ended, all seemingly to do so within seconds. Gods, she hated being in love.

Hazel finally pulled herself together and left her room, leaving the emotions crammed into the corners of the walls.

The one person she felt she could truly trust other than Piper was Percy. They had gotten very close since they met, which was great. He was like a big brother to her, protective and overseeing of her. Hazel really needed that at a time like this. She knocked on his door, which was already slightly open. She stepped inside to find Percy laying on his bed, smiling down at his phone. He had told her about this Shelli girl, and Hazel felt happy for him. They seemed to be best friends, but not once did they ever communicate with anything but their phones.

Hazel sat down by him and gave him a nudge. "Hey." She smiled. He looked up at her, his eyes starting to turn red from the screen time.

"Hey. What's up?" For once, he turned off his phone. Just to talk to Hazel. That made her feel important.

"Nothing, just bored. How are things with Shelli?" Hazel purposely avoided the topic of Frank. She didn't like to bring up herself that much, so she didn't. She secretly hoped Percy would ask about him, and then she could start bawling again. Percy looked happy as he replied.

"They're great. I've really gotten to know her over the past week or so. We have so much in common, more than I do with Annabeth..." He trailed off, obviously missing her. Hazel tried to veer back on topic.

"Why don't you set aside some time to hang out with Shelli? I mean, that's what friends do, right?" Percy beamed at the idea.

"That's exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks, Haze." Nobody called her that but Percy. And she liked it that way. It made her feel unique, like she had a special place in his heart. She smiled at the name and got up to leave.

"Well, I hope it works out. See ya, Perc." He smiled then went back to his phone. Although she didn't get what she wanted out of the conversation, seeing Percy happy was enough to lighten her mood. Hazel left and walked towards her room when she heard voices.

"No no no! You have to have a cure by now! Or at least let me see her! It's been days, man! DAYS! I don't care if I could catch it, just let me see her!" A brief pause.

"You don't understand, I love her. No, I get it. You don't care about Calypso. You just care about discovering a new disease and a new cure. Good day, sir." Her heart hurt hearing Leo so upset. He really loved Calypso; wanted to be by her side at all times. Hazel knew she should comfort Leo, but she didn't know how in her state. She quietly walked back to her room, hoping and praying to all of the gods for some answers to this big mess she calls her life.
