Why did things just decide not to work out for Dylan today? He had devised the perfect plan, all for nothing? If only that McLean girl had kept her mouth shut. Not to worry; one thing about Dylan was that he never left home without a backup plan. He paced around his throne room, waiting for his ignorant assistant to show up. He had told her specifically 12:05, and what time was it now? 12:01. She was supposed to be 5 minutes early! The nerve of people these days.
As soon as his assistant walked through that door... Oh was she going get the scolding of her lifetime. Dylan continued to pace, rethinking the whole plan about twenty times. So much could go wrong, but if he managed to pull it off... Boy, the look on those demigods' faces would be priceless. Would it be horror? Anger? A mix? Either way, Dylan was sure looking forward to initiating his plan.
He almost didn't realize when Suzie, his assistant, walked through the door.
"There you are! You're late!" Suzie looked down at her watch and squinted.
"It's 12:03 sir. If I remember correctly you said 12:05-" Dylan marched up to her and shoved one specific finger in her face.
"Assistants are supposed to be early. Remember that; I won't be as merciful next time. If there is a next time for you." Suzie turned extremely pale and gave him a slight nod.
"Now, bigger matters! We have work to do since our plan didn't go accordingly. It's time." Suzie gasped. "You can't mean-"
"Oh, I mean it. Initiate plan Alpha immediately." After a moment of silence, Dylan realized that his assistant couldn't form a response. He laughed.
"That's good, right? You're speechless? That means we have to do this. Go on, do it!" Suzie got up and turned towards him.
"Never before has something this-this elaborate been pulled off! How are you to-" Suzie began.
"Leave that to me, dear. Now run along. I've got work to do." Suzie did as she was told and exited the room very quickly.
Dylan paced around once more, a grin forming on his face. He would be known for pulling the biggest heist, so to speak, ever. But he could also finish what he had started... To its full extent. The perfect plan for the perfect situation. And it was going into full effect. Tonight.
