Every year it happened, and every year I hated it just that little bit more.
Not only was it a Monday morning, but it was also a very dreaded first day back at school. These first days consist of excited new kids who think school is amazing before they then realise it's a torture chamber where you're split up from your friends, are made to sit in alphabetical order and have to put up with the bullies who stereotype you for the smallest detail.
Not only do I have to put up with the newbies, but also the old terrors I have been stuck with in the whole journey of my education, and let's just say, after six years of being stuck with a loud mouth, who distracts everyone from learning, can make the day drag on and you feel like you've been in that one lesson forever. I'm definitely ready for a change.
It's got to the time in my life where I am flying the nest from all my fellow idiots. Yes that's right; the school have ever so kindly let us have a new timetable, where we are going to be mixed up with the other classes. So goodbye annoying kids and hello easy life of learning.
If you haven't guessed already, I just like to take the day as it comes, do what I have to do and if anyone gets in the way, I get annoyed. That's why me and Mr Loud Mouth don't get along because he distracts and I complain, leading up to him getting detention and me getting bullied because 'I'm a geek'. It's not my fault I need to get an education to succeed in life. Also just because I wear glasses does NOT mean I'm smart, it simply means that I cannot see as well as others.
Kids in my class soon learn that I am not the smartest, as one time in class we were randomly put into groups. Lucky for me, I was put with three girls who thought potassium was an animal. After pushing the worksheet in front of me and no work being done, they soon realised that I was as smart as they were. However I know that possum is the animal they were thinking of.
Popular kids just don't listen, I could tell them a lot of things they don't know about me and they wouldn't take in a word, they have an incredibly short attention span for the people who are lower than them on the social scale, which is pretty much everyone except them and their friends.
I don't have many friends but I like it that way. My friendship group consists of me and my best friend Sascha. We have been friends since nursery, like jelly and ice-cream. We go around like Batman and Robin, ready to fight crime...or bullies. The Joker of Gotham High is Adam. He is the one and only Mr Loud Mouth and my nemesis; we would fight all day if the teachers would let us. My only problem is, he has no boundaries, he will invade your personal space, intimidate you and if you hit that point of explosion he will more than likely lash out. Trust me, I should know about that one. It scares me when I think how stupid I was to go out with him. Hey, don't judge. Everyone has had their stupid moments in life when you look at someone and thought why did I ever go near them.
As me and Sascha made our way to the torture chamber, it got me thinking. I wonder if there are any new kids in our class, there must be. Every year at Gotham High, there would be a new starter, a transfer student or a foreign exchange student. Someone who was stupid enough to come here and be target practice for the bullies.
"Earth to Lucy" Sascha says, waving her hand rapidly in front of my face. I let her know I'm listening to her rant on about her holiday to Australia - where she supposedly met 5 Seconds of Summer, bull - by giving her a small grunt in response.
"Girl, you've got problems" she complains before continuing on with her story of how Ashton is so cute and she spent the night with them laughing and talking about their favourite type of pizza.
I was practically knocked out of my thoughts as Sascha grabs a hold of me by the arm and starts shaking me frantically.
"Oh wow, are you seeing what I'm seeing Lucy. Please tell me this is not a dream"
