Finally it's the end of the day. This first week back has dragged on so much. I feel like by the time Friday rolls around, I'll be ready for another holiday.

Seriously, the first week back after the six weeks of vegetating and getting square eyes from all the TV and internet browsing we do, teachers should respect that we need time to settle back into a routine.

I find myself daydreaming in Geography again, after Mr Johnson put on a documentary. I probably look like I'm watching it, but in reality my brain is asleep and my eyes are fixed on the moving pictures in front of me.

"You do realise he's gonna set this for homeowork" a voice says, snapping me back into reality.

I turn and look at Lucas. He has a pen in his hand and a full page of notes.
I'm screwed! I look around the room and everyone is writing things down, getting me even more worked up.

"You can copy off my notes if you want? Since you're the only one who hasn't written anything down" Luke says.

"Really, you would do that for me?" I ask.

"Yeah, I'm not going to make you struggle with your presentation. Besides, I know it's not nice when you're the only person who doesn't know what's going on" he says, giving me a half smile, which makes me instantly smile back.

He hands me his book and I begin to write down everything I can decipher. I never realised how much of a mess his handwriting is. I only have a few minutes before the bell will ring, so I make sure to just get as much written down as I could before Lucas would take it off me to rush off home.
The bell finally goes just as I finish my last sentence.

"Thank you so much" I say, handing him his book back.

"No worries" he smiles, taking the book form my hands and putting it inside his backpack. "See you around" he says as he walks out of the class.

Maybe sitting next to Lucas wasn't going to be so bad after all.
