Chapter 15

Addison POV:

The gentle kiss transforms into a long, heated and passionate one. Out of breath, I pull away and fix Zach's eyes. A smile forms in his lips, lightening up his whole face like the explosion of fireworks. Staring back at me, he plays with my hair, twisting a piece around his finger.

"Damn. After all we've been through, your hair is still soft and on point." he speaks, breaking the agreeable silent.

"It's magic." I giggle

"Oh, I get it. Harry Potter has cast a spell on you." he jokes

"Exactly! That's why you should never estimate the power of witches." I declare

"What do you mean?"

"They could make appear a huge troll or even King Kong."

"Where do you get all that imagination? From science-fiction movies I suppose. But now that I've been chased by dinosaurs, these fictive monsters don't scare me anymore." he affirms

"Yeah, I've seen tons of movies like that. And you're right, we overcame against raptors and the Indominus Rex. Nothing else can be compared to that." I acknowledge

"Yep. See, we're the best warrior duo." he grins as I return the gesture.

"But are you sure nothing scares you now?" I furrow up a brow.

"Of course. After all we went through, I've became invincible." he smirks

"Alright then. I guess you don't mind that spider on your shoulder." I tease him

His cocky smile fades into a blank expression. He quickly stands up and shakes his shirt trying to get off the non-existent critter. I burst out of laugh at how he's freaking out over a small insect. Funny that he feels 'invincible' but is totally terrified by a spider.

"Why are you laughing?" he snaps, a furious and anxious look molded in his face.

"I was kidding. There isn't any spider on you. I just wanted to see how you would react and this just proved me that you're not too tough as you make it seems like." I sneer

"H-huh it's just that I have a Arachnophobia." he scratches the back of his neck.

"What?"

"Fear of spiders. I just can't stand them." he replies sitting beside me. "Their long legs, sometimes hairy just disgust me and-"

"Yeah okay, I understand. No need to get into the details." I interrupt him, not wanting to hear a full description.

"Anyways. Everyone is afraid of something." he murmurs

"Yeah. I've gotta admit that spirits scare me."

"I think you've watched way too many horror films. They don't even exist darling." he chuckles

"Well, I believe in them. You know the legend of Bloody-Mary?" I question

"Oh yeah. Isn't that stupid game where you have to pronounce her name three times, in front of a mirror? Then apparently something happens. That's totally ridiculous." he blurts out

"You may find that silly but my best friend and I tried it at precisely midnight. Nothing happened instantly but few hours later, a loud crash woke me up. The mirror attached to the wall of the bathroom suspiciously fell down and shattered into pieces." I reveal

"It's just an accident. That myth isn't real." he laughs

"And how about the ghost from the old house that you were talking about with Gray earlier?" I cross my arms on chest.

"Well, it wasn't a real ghost. We heard a weird sound but we were home alone. Our parents were out. So Gray thought that the house was haunted but in reality it ended up being just a cat that somehow entered in the garage and made noises." he clarifies

"Was the cat black?" I ask

"I don't remember. But why the color even matters?"

"I've read that black cats bring bad luck." I state

"Oh god, you're so superstitious! Stop believing dumb stories from internet."

"They're not d-" I pause as the ground shakes, accompanied by a familiar roar echoing.
Popping our heads out behind the counter, we perceive the Indominus Rex still here, walking around in the Main Street of the park.
We were so into our conversation that we totally forgot about that creature. Without I realize it, she catches my eyes and I quickly low down my head, pulling Zach with me.

"I thought it left!" he exclaims

"Well, apparently it didn't. We better get out of here before it finds us."

We discreetly crawl out on the floor so we don't get noticed. Observing the dinosaur, she moves away from where we are. Taking the opportunity to flee before she comes back, I speed up, not paying attention to where I stumble in.

I let out a small shriek as a sharp piece of glass makes contact with my knee, slightly ripping off my skin. Perhaps I should've worn jeans instead of shorts. Ugh.

"What's wrong?" Zach inquiries, concerned.

"Uh, nothing important."

"Addison, tell me."

I sigh and point out to my knee, showing him my wound.

"How did that happen?" he demands as his eyes widen up.

"There's pieces of glass everywhere and I stepped on one of those." I explain

He scans the room, his eyes searching for something. He gets up and grabs napkins from the counter before laying down next to me.

"That's all we have for now. But I'll get you bandages later, don't worry." he glances at me then wipes off the blood from my knee.

"Zach, you don't have to-"

"Shut up and let me do my work." he cuts me off

"So I guess you're my own personal nurse now?"

"I guess." he smiles

He removes the napkins from my skin and notices that I'm still bleeding.

"Do you have an elastic?"

"Yeah, why?" I ask, taking off my hair tie from my wrist and handing it to him.

He places two clean napkins on my wound and ties them up together using the elastic to keep everything in place.

"Wow, clever."

"I know. See, your new nurse is hot and smart." he smirks

"Great! What else can I ask for?" I respond sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

"A kiss." he closes his eyes and starts leaning towards my face.

"I don't know if you've noticed, but there's a killer dinosaur roaming outside." I say, pushing him away and cautiously walking out of the store.

"I think we're safe now." I state

"Are you sure?" he whispers as a huge shadow arises in front of us. 

I feel someone's breath down my neck, making me sweat. A mix of panic and fear suddenly invades me. We start to run as fast we can with the Indominus Rex following behind us.
