Vacant luxury {Kai Parker}

the more you ignore me, the closer i get

Following the lead of Damon. His legs are far more long than my own, making it hard to keep up with him. I barely miss the welcoming of Damon's brother.

"I missed you, too, buddy." Damon's voice echos out through his family crypt. It's hard to miss his last name, 'SALVATORE' written on top of the entrance doorway.

"I can't believe it. I thought you were gone." I wonder how it feels to be missed as much as Damon was. I can sense the feeling, the moment they are sharing. It's nothing I've had with platonic feelings..

"you-" Damon's eyes meet mine over his brother's shoulders. His brother turns to look back at me.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. I just happen to not know where to go, now."

"I'm sure there is somewhere you could-" Cutting off Damon was always fun but my small habit has moved it's way over to his brother.

"No. Not without being banished, again. Just like Kai I was sent there to be punished. I can't leave, not without him." Leaving Kai in the prison world is now weighing heavily on me, "with my immunity, I want to ask to help get both Kai and Bonnie back."

"Tell us why you were sent to the prison world?" Caroline, she's a member of their group. Blonde, smart, controlling vampire.

"I made a mistake. Just like you, I could've been considered a ripper." I say, slouching on the couch like I did with Kai. It's weird to back at the boarding house without him. The halls don't echo as much and people are everywhere, in and out. "Magic made me hungry, I guess you could say. That's why I gave it up." I didn't. It still runs through my veins, it makes my skin crawl and my bones shake.

"Seriously? Why?" She must be the one they all send to scope things out. Bait or Distraction?

"In the prison world, there was nothing to satisfy it." Why lie anymore?

"What prevents you from taking it back?" or maybe she is a therapist?..right. 

"Nothing."

"Well, I appreciate the honesty."

"If there is any reason for taking it back, it would be to help get Kai and Bonnie out of the prison world and destroying it."

"From what Damon has said, Kai is a monster. Why would you want him back?"

"Because," I pull the soft box out of my pocket, "I love him." I look back up at Caroline. Her eyes are locked on the small box I hold in my hands. Returning my own attention back to it, I open it. I fiddle with the ring before pulling it out and placing it on my finger. It had a larger diamond in the middle and 3 smaller ones on either side. I always said that simplicity was made to be beautiful. That's when I decided to rid myself of magic once again. I had no need for it. Leaving my magic lingering inside the velvet ring box. "I need him back."
