Chapter 4

Okay so how do I put this...Luke isn't your average misunderstood teenage boy. Misunderstood maybe but...definitely NOT average.

My eyes widened as I took my first look at him.

Man was he hoooottttt.

Being me, I've never exactly been this close to a guy. What with walking for an eternity just trying to reach this stupid "Green Street". But I had promised my mother. So there were some thugs in my life I had to sacrifice: including boys.

Luke was tall. About 5'9, just a couple inches taller than me. His hair was a deep brown, like the color of night. His eyes were a tantalizing green, the color of a tree's leaves. He gave me a a surprised look, then looked away when our eyes met. I quickly rearranged my face, to hide my real expression.

"Hey." He said nonchalantly.

"Hi." I replied, mimicking his tone.

"Luke." he said, offering his hand.

"Lauren." I told him, shaking it.

He nodded and walked into the room adjacent to mine, leaving me there, speechless, for the very first time in my life.

I ran into my room, my heart beating at the speed of light.

Great.

Another complication.

I flopped down onto the nearby bed, staring up at the wall.

Then it hit me.

This apartment...looked like CRAP!

The walls were chipped, with about 10 holes in each one.

The floors were scraped big-time, and the wood didn't even look like wood anymore.

The only furniture in the room was a small bed and closet.

The windows were so nasty, i could barely see through them.

And the dust...well don't even get me started.

"It's only temporary." I thought to myself.

Welcome home, Lauren!

4 hours passed when I realized that I had dozed off. I glanced at the electric clock on the small nightstand.

7:52 PM

Mr.Wild!!!!!!!!

I shuffled through my backpack and reached for the paper I had written his number on earlier. Grabbing the hotel telephone and dialing his number, I reached a state of confidence.

RIIINNNNNNNGGGGGG

RIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGG

RIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGG

"Officer Wild..What can I do for ya?" his scratchy voice boomed though the receiver.

"Oh um, hello. It's Lauren. Greenfield."

"Oh yes, the suspicious minor. Found out your address?"  He said. I could hear the cockiness in his voice. Man did this guy bore me.

"Oh yeah. 33 Blue Mountain Street. Apartment A42." I told him, a smile creeping over my face.

He sounded baffled. "Uh..uh...alright then minor...see ya on the street."

"Cya Mr. Wil-Officer Wild" I said satisfied.

"This doesn't mean I won't still be watching Lauren."

I laughed into the phone. "Bye officer Wild"

"Goodbye Lauren" And he clicked off.

I sighed and flopped back down onto my luxurious bed.

VICTORY!
