"What time is the party again?" Sage asked, grabbing a Sharpie permanent marker off my desk.
"Noon," I answered, without looking away from my books sprawled out on my bed. "In the backyard."
I have so much homework. But the good thing is, is that I have as much time as needed to finish it. My teachers and counselor are being really cool about everything and working with me as far as schooling and homework.
"I'll be there," she promised, plopping down on my bed. "I want two boys, girls are bitches."
I just shook my head as she pressed the Sharpie to my bright pink cast and began doodling.
Even if they were girls, Matt and I would not let them act like bitches.
"I want a baby girl, she'll be a little cheerleader," I admitted. "But it doesn't matter, as long as my babies are happy and healthy."
She looked up at me and smiled. "You're going to be such a great mother."
I smiled and passed her a quiet thanks.
She continued to draw on my cast as I continued with my homework.
"I like your toes," she commented, without looking up at me.
"Thanks?" I giggled. She laughed too.
"They're weird," she added. "Like they're not fat but they are kind of long."
"Shut up about my toes, you wacko," I laughed, tossing my pillow at her.
"I'm really happy to see you smile," she said, once we sobered up. "It's been a few weeks since I've seen that beautiful smile."
She reached up and wrapped her arms around me, hugging me. I hugged back and held her close. I love my best friend.
"Oh and if you have a girl, name it Sage?"
I giggled, letting go of her. "No,"
She shrugged. "Worth a shot."
I shook my head at her and directed my attention back to my homework.
We were silent a while before Matt walked in with Starbucks.
"Hello darling," he greeted, giving me a quick kiss. "Here."
He handed me my usual and sat on my desk chair next to my bed.
I thanked him and accepted it, sipping on it right away.
"So what do you want Matt?" Sage asked. "Boys or girls?"
I drew away from my papers and gave him my attention. I was kind of curious too.
"Honestly?" He inquired, looking straight into my eyes. "I want a baby girl so that every time I look at her, my heart throbs because she reminds me so much of her beautiful mother."
I smiled at him as he reached over and gave me a kiss.
"And I want a boy because he'll be a bad ass football player." He added, pulling away.
I couldn't help but laugh. It was true, if we have a boy, Matt is going to make sure he loves football.
"I'd be happy with either." I said. "Two males or two females, one of each; it doesn't matter."
"Me too," Matt nodded. "But I really want a boy,"
I smiled as I looked down at my cast.
"Sage that looks awesome!" I beamed, scanning the exterior of the cast on my leg.
