I awoke in the dark.
I was on the ground of something that seemed to be a cave. The floor was dusty, below the thin layer of dirt was rock. It was cool, and when I moved I could hear a small echo.
My head hurt. I reached up and felt a large bump on my head. I was lying flat on my back, eyes up to the ceiling. But I couldn't see the ceiling, just darkness. I rolled over on my side. My leg hurt, but I could move it. The pain in my chest was gone, and as I felt my ribs, it seemed that none had broken.
That was a relief, but my leg was in bad condition, and my head hurt pretty bad. My shoulder was slightly achy, but it seemed that it was no longer bleeding. That was odd, I had been stabbed pretty badly by Huden, how had it healed? Was I put under a Patching Ray? That would explain quite a bit.
But I was laying on the dirty ground of the cave. Wouldn't I be in a cruiser or something? Had the medic cruisers been destroyed? Had we taken shelter in a cave? What about the natives? Or whatever they were. All of my questions swirled through my mind, my eyes still not adjusting to the dark.
My thoughts were interrupted by part of the cave wall to my left sliding open. I jumped, startled by the sudden movement and light. Pale blue light flooded into the cave illuminating the walls. There were drawings all around me, depicting stick men fighting wild creatures. Made of yellows and oranges, they seemed to be hand painted. They were old and worn, but still were there.
I My cave drawing investigation was cut short as two figures walked into the cave. They wore the same long grey and blue cloaks as the thing that had hit me did. They had masks too, two different ones. One had a triangular chin, which came up into a spike, on both sides of the face, making odd looking ears. Both of the spikes came down to the middle of the forehead, then traveling back up to create a third middle spike. It was like a trident, of sorts. The mask had large blue eyes, and the blue glowing patterns of the last I had seen.
The second mask was shaped like a triangle, with large, flat, tusks protruding from the sides of the head. They stretched down below the chin, the edges glowing blue. The eyes were large, pointed and blue. The mask had similar blue patterns running along the design.
The blue of both of their cloaks glowed eerily. The light gave the cavern a creepy, unreal feel. They carried weapons. The triangle with tusks had a huge gun with a large blade hanging off the bottom of the barrel. The blade glowed blue, and the barrel of the gun emanated the same light. The one with the three head spikes carried a long spear, one that looked awfully like the one that incinerated Huden.
The triangle-tusked one pointed the gun at me and nodded it's mask toward the door. I raised my hands and struggled to stand. The two guards watched me closely. I limped toward the door, eyeing the weapons my captors held. My leg was throbbing but something told me to keep moving, so I clenched my teeth in pain and made my way to the open door. Triangle-Tusks kept the gun pointed at me as I entered the hallway. It was dark, illuminated only by blue strips of light stretching down along the corners of the hallway. I began to walk down the hallway, with Three-Spikes leading me and Triangle-Tusk behind me.
We walked for a minute or so, when the two came to a stop at a door at the left side of the hall. It slid open and I followed my captors into the room. I found a second hallway, much like the one we had left, save for the doors. There were grey doors all along the hall. They were placed evenly apart, on both sides of the hallway. I glanced around, trying to keep track of our path.
I was led along the hallway with my captors staying close. The further we traveled, the thicker the doors got, and the colder it got. They stopped at a door, dark grey steel and a keypad of numbers glowing light blue. The numbers were human, I recognized them. Three-Spikes stepped forward, looking like it might type a code in, It turned and looked at me, then nodded to Triangle-Tusks.
I turned to see what he was doing, when a bag went over my head. I jumped in surprise. I felt large hands clamp down on my shoulders, and heard a door slide open. The hands led me through, what I guessed was a third hallway. I let them move me, I didn't try to resist, they hadn't hurt me, and probably could have killed me already, so I really didn't have any choice.
They stopped leading me, and the bag was removed. I opened my eyes in suprise, that was kind of useless. I looked around, I was standing in a small room. There was a small cot in one corner, and in the other: a tiny half wall with a toilet.
I was standing in a cell.
