Royal Shenanigans:
Within the walls of the royal palace lived four dragons.
The two royals were deeply in love and fond of each other and their two children, the eldest, Prince Storm, and the youngest, Prince Fang. All the rulers of the Thunder district of the Empire of the Dragons. The eldest, Prince Storm, and first in line, was always favored by his mother, and the younger prince, Fang, had been favored by his father. Both boys are learning different values with each parent.
Prince Storm learned that he is to command respect and how to become a leader by any means and destroy all enemies, while Prince Fang learned about respect being a two-way street and how becoming a leader means more than just commanding others.
Both princes used to be close too, occasionally playfighting over silly beliefs, but overall, they were happy.
Until the day another raid began.
Humans had arrived to come and kill the dragons for their skin, horns, fangs, blood, and their young. The king went to personally destroy them and the human empire...only after that day...he never returned
It wasn't until days later they reported his body as dead...killed by a harpoon to the heart...
Everything changed that day... Queen Thunderbird spent months—no, years—grieving over her dead mate. Eventually turning her anger towards her youngest. Refusing to look at him, the pain she felt was too much, and the way the prince looked just like her dead mate...she couldn't bear it.
However...Eldest Prince Storm grew jealous of the affection Queen Thunderbird would give the youngest on those small occasions where she could. So, he began to cause harm to his younger sibling, even starting to frame him for things he didn't do.
With the fragile state of mind of the queen...she believed everything. Turning whatever affection was left into anger and hatred, turning her affection to her now Golden Child Storm.
Now little Fang tried his best to win his mother's affections, but the damage was done...but not yet permanent....
It wasn't until one fateful day...Storm was flying around and crashed into the royal tapestry. He panicked and flew away to tell his mom...using his brother as the scapegoat....
"What is it, my little thundercloud? ..." The queen asks as Storm flew into her lap. "F-Fang was playing with a ball. I had told him not to, and he—he!" Storm acted all panicked as if he had been trying to play the perfect role model big brother. Only the guards and maids knew he spoke nothing but lies.
"What did he do, Thundercloud..." The queen pats his head comfortingly. Then, he said the key words that would change Fang's life forever...
"He broke the tapestry of Dad and you!"
The queen froze...no, this could not be...not one of the few things she had left of him...
And poor little Prince Fang had just the worst timing ever...
"Mother...I made you this!" He held up a drawing he had made. During all of this mess, he had been in his room, drawing little pictures to honor his dad's memory. The king always loved drawing with him, so it helped keep his memory alive. He thought maybe this drawing would help bring a smile back to his mother's face... But he had the worst timing ever...
"Momma, I made this for you!" He pulled out a drawing happily and innocently. Only to receive a look of hatred and anger. "You...you've destroyed the one last thing we had...You did this!" The queen roared, shifting into her fully grown dragon form. Her thunder blast charging. "You must be punished for this insubordination!"
The little prince barely had time to speak before--
All that could be heard was a blast of lightning and the loud, horror-filled scream...
The little prince was struck and pushed back by the blast. Lying on the floor, his drawing floated to the floor. He held his right eye in horror and fear. Everything turned silent for the prince. All he could see was the blood in his hands. All he could hear was ringing in his ears...all he could do was stare...
Once the queen was ready to strike again, one of the maids had grabbed the young prince and ran with him to the hospital wing. Earning an angry roar from the queen.
At the hospital wing, the nurse got to work, patching up the young prince's eye and face from the blast, before giving him to another maid. The new maid rushed him to his room. All the prince could see was the blur rush...until passing out...
When he woke up, he was in absolute pain. Holding his face where his eye was struck. He checked himself in the mirror and was horrified at the sight... He was completely burnt and unsure if he could even SEE from that eye anymore...it was patched up, so it was hard for him to say.
Ever since that day the prince, Fang, rarely left his room, only being fed in his room and viewing the royal staff as his family, losing trust in his blood family...
When he was old enough, the prince would fly out when no one was watching and explore his kingdom, until one day meeting a slime creature... She was captured and scared... He knew the feeling all too well.... He landed, almost crash landing due to the partial blindness in his right eye.
"Prince Fang! Are you alright sire?" One of the guards asks, helping him up. The prince nodded. "I'm alright...what's going on here?"
"We caught an intruder..."
The young slime cried out, "I told you I got washed up in this lake! I got caught in a jar and couldn't open it!"
"Silence!" The other guard yelled.
"Let her go."
"Excuse me?" The guards turn to him.
The prince glared. "I said...let her go.... She seems distressed...she clearly doesn't wish to be here." The slime girl looked at him and smiled, mouthing a thank you. Fang nodded.
"Umm...as you wish, Sire." The guards turned tail and left.
"Your eye looks hurt..." The slime girl approached him and stretched up to meet his eye level. The prince grimaced and turned away. "It's from a long time ago...I'd rather not—"
"Bap!" The slime girl put her hands on his scar.
The Prince, in surprise, jumped back and growled, "What in Caelum nomen's name was that for!" Suddenly his eye could see just a bit more...he could vaguely see what she looked like from that eye and perceive light better... "...By Celestial's name..."
(Caelum nomen—Heaven's name)
"I have a rare healing slime, so I figured it'd help; it's only fair—you helped me after all." She smiled. "I'm Slimey."
"...Fang...Prince Fang..." He spoke, still in shock as to what happened. Fang touched the right side of his face, being able to now feel his own touch. He looked at her and hugged her, not caring if it was going to stain his clothes... He was so grateful.
"Wah!—My slime, it's gonna—" Slimey was cut off by the Prince: "I don't care...thank you..." Slimey stayed silence and hugged back. "Scilicet Princeps Fang..."
(Scilicet Princeps Fang...—Of course Prince Fang)
Ever since that day, Fang and Slimey have met up on multiple occasions and become friends. Even eventually having her meet the royal family. Storm hated that Fang had something he didn't have and tried to kidnap her. That was one of the few times Fang would fight against his brother and didn't feel afraid to do it.
As for the queen, she loved Slimey; she was a delight to have in the palace and brought some life into it...just like she brought life into Fang's life...
