Bonus Story 3

Who rules what?

In the deep ocean of Nebula, past the Corallium Penicillo Mari, lived many creatures. One of them called...Sharklins...

Think of humans but with shark skin, sharp teeth, fins, and a tail.

All kinds of sharklins lived and looked like their representative shark.
Small eyes, first and second dorsal and anal fins are broadly rounded, and by the side of their cheeks they had nasal barbels? Nurse Sharklins

Yellow-skinned, typically in large groups, with a white underbelly, the first and second dorsal fins are triangular and close to the same size? Lemon Sharklins

Large and grey-skinned with white underbellies, they live all around Nebula, with large, erect, and triangular teeth. Great White sharklin.

However, they all lived under rulers of the respective 7 seas.

A Riftjaw Aerithian hybrid, Queen Aetheris Vaelia, ruled the Mare Caelorum. Her kingdom, the sea right above the Sky Kingdom territory, easily explaining her half-blooded sides. She ruled with kindness and had a similar power to the seer. While born blind, she could have moments of peace where she could see the future, allowing her to prepare for a crisis ahead of time.

Adhuc Aqua Maris was ruled by a Liraquen (inspired by a leafy sea dragon) named Queen Drellica. Her kingdom was near the coastal islands of Nebula's peninsula; while small, it was considered a sanctuary for those in need. 

The queen practiced medicine and healing with herbs from land and sea to make miracle-working remedies. She even has a school dedicated to medicine. Many mistake her for being aloof because of her slow speech and being covered in trailing fronds, algae, and coral growth.

Obumbravit Mare was ruled by a creature who had descended straight from the old "god" of the sea...a leviathan, only now mixed with another species of Eelfolk from the depths of the sea. Emperor Enzo, who ruled the deep dark where not even Riftjaws DARE to venture.

He was the biggest ruler out of the 7 that ruled, being 18'4" tall and one of the more feared. Even the cheerful Vaelia fears him. When the discussion of war starts, everyone just looks at the Emperor, and they all quiet down, knowing that if everyone battled against each other... he and his army would wipe them out.

On the other hand, Media Nocte Mari is ruled by a Riftjaw Warlord, Rhaskuun the Bloodtooth. He believed in Riftjaw supremacy and had every male Riftjaw enter military school after classes at the ripe age of 12. Easily provoked, he has had a long history with his people of hating Sharklins. He's trying to get himself allied with Emperor Enzo to seize all military power, but the Emperor sees him as a sea slug under his tail. While coldhearted, cruel, and violent, no one would suspect that the tyrant has his eyes on the Medical Queen Drellica.

A Mantamari ruled over Mare Luminis, a crowned prince named Prince Caedor, the lucky brother of his twin sibling, Virelios. Both represent the two sides of the same coin. Prince Caedor, being albino, has his bioluminescent markings red instead of their usual blue.

He's the yin to his brother's yang. When it comes to politics, peace treaties, or problem solving, Crowned Prince Caedor is in control, but when it comes to military training, hard choices and battles, Prince Verelios takes the wheel. While different, they both care deeply for each other and fiercely protect the other.

The ever-eternal stormy seas of Mare Procellarum, Queen Ryzelda reigned supreme with an iron fist.
As the first-ever female ruler in her family, she has had to prove herself again and again, even from childhood. When the other rulers had a childhood, had friends, and could be vulnerable? She had to prove herself to her father, the guards, and the royal court. "Feminae numquam ad regnandum destinatae sunt." Females were never meant to rule.

 A phrase she heard her whole life, a phrase that she was determined to prove wrong. While ruthless and showing no mercy, she knew when to show compassion behind the scenes. Not too much that it seemed that she was vulnerable, but enough to let the person know she respects them.

Maria Centralia was the capital, the main sea ruled by the youngest of the rulers, Crowned Prince Kael. While most Great White Sharklins give birth to 2 - 10 pups, Kael was born alone. His brother died after childbirth. He never learned to be kind or compassionate. He only learned to take what was his, as his parents spoiled him to the core. He found sick pleasure in tormenting his servants, guards, and generals. The older he got, the more cruel he became. However, he kept his kingdom in good shape, not wanting his people to rebel. He has only ever spared one servant of his the torment. A blind seer who could look into a creature's mind like an invasive parasite. He was cocky and full of himself, and with his seer, he knew exactly how to keep his palace guards and servants loyal... After all, blackmail works perfectly. Only 22 years old, the youngest of the bunch.

Many creatures live where they see fit. The Jellyfolk lived under Queen Ryzelda; the Mantamari and Testudo marina people were ruled by the twin princes. Riftjaws lived under the rule of Rhaskuun the Bloodtooth, while most sharklins lived under Prince Kael's reign. Sealons and other species of Liraquen lived under Queen Drellica, while other sharklins, Craberians, some Aetherians that cohabited in water, and some species of Whale folk lived under Queen Aetheris Vaelia. Eelfolk, sirens, other species of Jellyfolk, and vampire squidlins all lived under the rule of Emperor Enzo.

Most never interact; others do.

Some get along, some don't.

But they all know they need each other to survive, and no matter the hate, they can't just destroy each other...not without valid reason anyway.
