The meeting ended amicably, though the shareholders were upset he hadn't agreed to their suggestions.

While they were sour faced and insistent, a suggestion was just a suggestion after all.

Still, he had to wonder why one of the Song heirs was interested in investing in his and Li Suren's company. It wasn't weird for him to be interested in investing but there was no reason for him to want to get involved in theirs. The Song's had their fingers in a lot of pies but this one in particular was mostly involved in entertainment so why was he interested in their manufacturing business?

It was weird no matter what.

Worse, it was that one.

Song Jiang.

While not much was known about him since he'd been sent abroad almost a decade prior, the few things that slipped through about him was not something one wanted to get involved with. Song's were already a bit of an underworld family but he didn't want someone he knew nothing about getting close to his belongings.

"Fu Chen!"

Fu Chen, his assistant, stepped forward, wondering what he was going to be ordered to do. Despite his job description saying otherwise, he usually was tasked with keeping watch and cleaning up messes. As such, he was not looking forward to his boss's next words.

Yet, much to his surprise!

"Look into Song Jiang for me." Chen Guiren ordered, handing the man the investment proposal he'd been given during the meeting. "It feels like this guy has been showing up around me a lot more than normal."

Fu Chen smiled briefly, happy to get an errand suitable for his job title. Then he realized what the order would entail.

"S-sir, investigating a Song is a bit..."

Dangerous was the generous term. There was a reason people rarely spoke up about the Song group. They were a strong and insular family, biting anyone who tried to mess with them.

Despite being good when allied, most preferred to stay neutral.

Chen Guiren's order, however, might make them catch those mad dogs eyes.

The alpha snorted, patting the man on the shoulder. "If I was afraid of dogs, I wouldn't have dared step into the business world."

His fathers had trained him to take over, making it clear that people in their field were cut-throat. That the enemy to value was the one who openly showed hostility and one to be most wary of was those who smiled like they were your friend.

The song group was definitely an enemy but they were pretty overt. If a problem arose, they'd be up front and obvious. This made it easy to counter.

Those who fell to the Song group were too used to cordial and two faced opponents who used legal means to screw each other. They weren't used to broken kneecaps and alleyway beatdowns.

That was his and the Song group's standard method of 'negotiation'.

"That's only if you get caught." He assured Fu Chen, walking past him. "I didn't hire you to get caught by just anyone, right?"

Over the next couple weeks, the trio was so busy that they rarely even saw a hair of each other.

Jun Yibai was either studying at school or at home, the only clue he lived with others was the ever cycling supply of food in the fridge.

Li Suren and Chen Guiren took turns running their business and attending classes. They could afford to be part time students while Jun Yibai felt like dying.
