The series of events that led up to the pair getting arrested was so surreal, Jun Yibai still couldn't be sure he hadn't accidentally walked onto a film set.

The pair had left the market with a bunch of groceries in hand. The man had a car waiting nearby and packed in all his purchases.

"Need a ride?" He offered, giving Jun Yibai a small smile. Had he known Zhuan Mu better, he'd know such a thing was a rarity reserved for his husband and son alone.

"I'm good, thanks."

While the walk home was a bit long, he hadn't bought too much. He'd carried much heavier loads so a few bags of produce wouldn't kill him.

The pair spoke for a bit while the man's men filled the car's trunk for his purchases. Jun Yibai was curious about the type of car he had and couldn't help but asked about it.

Zhuan Mu, having spent some time with the young man, trusted him enough to let him inspect the car. After all, he was already a student on scholarship. When would he get the chance to see such a high spec vehicle?

While Jun Yibai indulged in his exploration, a suited man walked up to Zhuan Mu and whispered in his ear.

"...Then go take care of it." He ordered, just as the beta circled back.

"Everything ok?" He asked, wondering why the few servants he saw were heading off somewhere.

"Yeah, just a work thing." Zhuan Mu replied, his tone showing no concern. He was so calm that it eased Jun Yibai's initial suspicions. "By the way, you wouldn't happen to know any good bakeries around here too, would you?"

The sudden question threw Jun Yibai for a loop.

He snorted. "I wouldn't have thought uncle would have a sweet tooth."

This burly man who would look more at home heading a mafia-like meeting was asking about nearby bakeries? Then again, he had also gone grocery shopping for his partner so perhaps it wasn't too abnormal.

"I gotta bribe my husband sometimes." He replied, shrugging his shoulders.

Jun Yibai nodded with understanding. Since living with Li Suren and Chen Guiren, he came to realise that they liked whenever he brought home anything for them. He felt bad for not spending time with his partners so he tried to make things better by giving them random treats he got.

A few candies and the pair were all smiles and kisses.

If not for his studying taking precedence, he might have pushed for more than just kisses.

Shaking off the growing inappropriate thought, he led the older man to the nearby bakery. It was a humble shop run by an omega and alpha who were constantly at odds with one another. It was hard to say if they were a couple or mortal enemies but their products were so good that Jun Yibai felt his curiosity dissolve each time he took a bite of their free samples.

Wether they fucked each others brains out or cursed their seven generations to poverty whenever they snuck into the back room, Jun Yibai had long sincestopped caring.

The only issue was the price.

The quality of the pastries was well worth the price but it hurt everytime Jun Yibai wanted to indulge.

With the kind of confidence that would make Li Suren balk with shame, Jun Yibai turned to Zhuan Mu and said, "If you're treating, I'll show you a place that would easily coax any partner."
