Gerard and Frank/Problematic People

Frank and Gerard were/are problematic. 

I hate to say it, you hate to hear it, but a Instagrammer said something about Gerard being problematic, I googled it, and some valid points came up. I'll link it if you want to read it on your own. 

So basically they're talking about how Gerard once had the "not afraid to call a 16 year old the c-word or shitbag" in his Twitter bio at one point, and how he'd said "If you think for one second you're better than a 16-year-old in a Green Day t-shirt remember the time you were at your first concert..." etc., etc., and then countered it with the "you're a cunt and I'll smash your face in" (we'll cover the "smash your face in" thing later.

Now, I didn't see/hear about this, but apparently a girl called Gerard out for some things and Gerard said something along the lines of "you're a cunt and i'll smash your face in", yep. Now a girl argued that "woah! you don't know what the girl said before this to trigger him!!" And said how she brought Bandit into it and said "I pity your daughter for the father she has" (which, in my opinion, actually a shit thing to say to anyone unless your father was a rapist or murderer or abusive, all of which Gerard is not, even though he just threatened to smash a girls face in shit okay). 

Gerard said he'd smash a girls face in okay wow that's not good. 

I seriously just heard about this like thirty minutes ago so I'm still reading in on it more I'm so sorry this isn't the best information please look at the link in case I get anything wrong. 

So the girl was saying she pities Bandit for her father because of the misogyny and use of the gendered insult 'cunt'. 

But so many dad's will be with their bros all "oh she does the cleaning and cooking because she's a fine-ass woman'. 

I saw one of those astrology posts today that were geared towards woman that said something like "bad looking, good cooking" "good looking, bad cooking" so on, so forth. 

It's still a big casual thing to say woman do the cooking and men do the woodwork, and sometimes I find myself slipping up by insulting boys by calling them dicks or telling them to go throw a football or some shit. (That doesn't have Gerard in the clear for anything he does, I just wanted to address that it's a huge brainwashing media thing and in times of anger or when you're not thinking it may slip out.) 

So she may as well be pitying me for the father I have, for he's a stereotypical "black dad" who's not with my mom and is never home and doesn't pay child support, but this is another topic for another day.  

I pity myself for the fact that I don't have the 'ideal' home life, but I love my dad, and he loves me, and you shouldn't pity me because I still do have a healthy home life.

Now I think this covers Gerard, the point being when Bandit turns 16 Gerard would hate for a dude in a band she likes calls her a cunt and threatens to smash her face in.

Before we talk about Frank, I want to say that I actually worship Frank and love him to death, I've called him my son and I would kiss the ground he walks on, and I've called him the sweetest most innocent person to ever roam the earth. 

I'm blinded by Frank Iero, but I can easily call him out on this tweet he tweeted because I hate it and it makes me really sad that he, someone I look up to as a role model, and so do many other kids, and he said this. 

 "To the two screaming prick faced toddlers who ruined my viewing of transformers last night, your mother should have sat on a coat hanger. Xo" 

No. No no no no no. This doesn't even need explaining for how wrong it is for him to say this. 

He just said "I, someone who paid 20$ for a movie that'll eventually be free to watch on Netflix, shall wish death upon these children for blocking my view at my precious Transformers movie."

No, no, no, no, no. That's wrong and awful and disgusting and it's actually making me absolutely devastated. 

I mean, you have two girls and a boy, with a wife. How would you feel if you knew someone who said "I wish she would've gotten those kids aborted," etc., etc.?

Not fucking peachy at all. I know, you love your kids to fucking death. So why call out some other woman with a possible husband or boyfriend who loves their kids to death for something that little kids will do?

"Frank was annoyed! I'd do the same!" You say. Yeah, that puts you in the wrong for that shit too. 

That's about it for Frank, and now we move on to the conclusion. 

Gerard and Frank have both apologized for their actions and it was in the past and they feel awful about it. (This was around 2014, 2013 and back some more.)

Everyone forgave them. 

5 Seconds of Summer, a band widely hated throughout the whole emo/punk/hardcore etc. community for saying and doing homophobic, misogynistic, racist things. 

That was 2011 and then some back. 

They apologized. 

The community, who were happy to accept Frank and Gerard back with open arms, still bring up the things they said. 

(5SOS still do pretty trashy things tbh, so it's understandable.) 

But still, this is just something to think about.
