Mother was the ruler of the Hearth.

The unspoken queen whose word was law and everyone adored.

And even if that wonderful tale spoke of a King, rising among them to take their rightful place along side their mother's side, that did not mean that everyone else would just fade as that "person" got all the love that mother would share.

Not that Mother would ever do that.

Nah

Never..

Impossible..

She was too kind to just pepper one of them with love only to ignore the rest, something that Sarah would have wanted to slam into the thick skulls of some of the most dumb of her brothers and sisters. But she understood..for it was said that sometimes people came out from bad places...places...that had hurt them.

It wasn't that they had any distrust towards mother, but it was nothing than fear of been rejected and pushed way.... like they had suffered before coming here at the Hearth. They were...damaged..or at least that was the word she had heard one of the maids say, though she did not know well what it meant. After all, they did not seem to be made of glass, so Sarah did not know what that "damage" was..... nor she thought too much about it.

That was stuff for the grown ups after all~

Still, she...like many had noticed that something had started to change at the House.

Mother had always been sweet and kind, but now even more than ever before.

Playing with them..

Teaching them how to draw like her..

Giving out cakes...

Having all of them take a nap once or twice at the shade of one of the trees in the playground while the wind blew gently above their heads.

Oh..and the tales, so strange, so peculiar, so INTERESTING..! Sarah may not have thought them to be much..., well, she does loves the a good tale as much as the next person, but there was a strange sense when one was not familiar with the story unlike the other times.

But...

When that tale of a young straw headed pirate helping that young thief girl from those fish-man had been said she could have barely kept herself for expressing how ithad been so adorable and touching...truly mother knew the best stories..!

If only she was not as busy as she was now

They all were aware that mother did had things that she ahd to do outside the Hearth, but she had never saw her leave for an entire week like this. And why did Peruere and Clervie had to follow after her too...!?
