Poem by Dana Young

Sometimes

Sometimes times are tough, but we gotta be tougher.

Sometimes our struggles are hard, but we gotta push harder.

Sometimes the road we seek  isn't visible,

but we still have to walk it.

Sometimes the life we want isn't possible, but we still gotta live it.

And the goals we push for aren't achievable,

or believable

But still we must set them.

Sometimes our pasts corrupt our present

but still we must make a better future.

Sometimes the only things worth fighting for are unrealistic,

but we must make them our reasons for rising each day.

Sometimes it seems as if we are always failing, but we must

look forward to the moments we succeed.

Sometimes we can't picture good happening in the world, but

we must look past the bad in order to see the good.

Sometimes we want to make a difference, but we find that

nothing's changed. Something has changed, but it just

isn't visible.

Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes we seek  but seldom find

the joy in life, in yours, and mine.

That's because the joy we seek

is found in our actions, lifestyles

and in the words we speak.
