I ran over to the cab occupied by Murphy. A new look had come into his eyes, one that made his look like a man that one wouldn't reckon with. "We are going to save her Charlie, and I knew where we are going to start," The chief looked like the man he had been when he had first been appointed to the New York Private Investigation office. His tall frame cast a shadow across the road, and he looked like a force stronger than the city itself. "Let's move Michaels," he commented like he would on the projected weather for the following day.
He took off in a hurry, weaving around the New York traffic in the direction of the Empire State Building.

Danny pushed me into the chair in the Chiefs office. He grabbed my wrists and fastened them behind, pulling at my socket and making me scream. "Shut up," Danny slapped me and pulled my wrists tighter together. "Oh, this is going to be so fun," he smiled out of the large windows. Along with me he had carried his small black package with him wherever he went. Now, he placed it on the counter and grabbed the box out. It was small enough, about the size of a cell phone. I was flat, and it had 2 small buttons on the top, a red and a green. I could guess easily enough what each one did.
"This right here is the baby of my pride and joy," Danny gestured to the little thing, and cradled it like it was a child. "I have been working on this little thing for months now. And it works like a charm. This baby, once I program it to detonate, cannot be stopped. Its power covers a 5 mile radius, and it is the strongest thing the city of New York is ever going to experience. After today, I will be the world's most famous and wanted person. But once this deal is worked out, they won't be able to touch me. That is why it is such an ingenious method. I am trading you for my freedom," Danny paced up and down the length of the office, walking in the rut of the carpet. "And of course I wish I could bring you with me as I go and explore the world, but we all have to make sacrifices."
"I would never go with you," I whispered, "Never."
Danny came and kneeled in front of me, and he quickly untied my hands. He wrapped them around his waist, and held me close to him. "I will find you again one day that is inevitable. You will always be mine; we might just have to vacation away from each other for a little while. But I will find you again. You cannot expect to get away that easily." Danny smirked at me and kissed my forehead.
"I need to go make plans with the boys. See you soon Darling," with a smile he walked out of the room, but he didn't notice that instead of his homemade bomb in his back pocket, sat my cell phone instead. The thing was the same size as the bomb, and Danny hadn't even noticed when I slipped it out of his pocket. I now had the upper hand, and I knew what I had to do.
