Right after Danny walked out to the porch, I shrugged of the fake stupor act. My shoulder is killing me, was the first thought that came into my mind. I looked around the room, and I saw a small phone on the desk next to me. If I could get one of my hands free, I could reach it. I hand been working on getting my feet free whenever Danny wasn't around. Pulling them out of the ropes, I now focused on my uninjured right shoulder.
I craned my neck and started moving my elbow, pulling at the ropes. They cut into my skin and made the scabs peel, but I was not concerned about getting blood on the sheets.
When my hand was finally free, I looked around the room to make sure Danny was not going to jump out at me when I wasn't watching for him. I saw his head hanging over the porch chair, glass on the floor. Hopefully he was drunk enough to sleep for a while.
Without moving my left shoulder, I grabbed the phone from the desk and dialed the first number that came to my mind. I prayed that Charlie had his phone by him. I wouldn't have another chance to make this call.

As soon as the phone vibrated on the desk Charlie grabbed it and answered. "Where are you keeping her?" was the first words that came out of my mouth. I heard shallow breathing followed by silence. "Who is this?" I asked again.
"Charlie," the words came from the phone. "Help me. I'm scared," Des' voice was shaky and weak, her voice rattling through my body.
"Desiree." I could barely get words out. "Where are you? Tell me. I need to find you."
"Please Charlie, I'm so scared. He isn't going to let me go. I don't know where I am. I'm so tired."
"Don't you dare give up on me Desiree Hunt, I mean it." I could hear her breath grow shallow. "I'm coming for you, wait for me."
"I love you Charlie. I love". Her voice shattered the room in a sheer scream. "Please no! Leave me alone!" I could hear her screams come through the phone.
"Leave her alone! You monster!" I was shaking with rage.
"You have been warned. Try to find her, and she will die. She is mine." Danny's voice came strong and clear through the call.
"You are a monster." I tried to speak but the line went dead. I collapsed on the floor, the stress finally getting to me. Before I lost consciousness, I could feel Murphy's shadow come over me.
"You did it son," he spoke over me. "We got her."

Danny had me by my hair as he dragged me across the apartment floor. Blood from the claw marks that ran across my face dripped to the floor. I didn't bother to open my eyes, afraid to see what shape my body was really in. my shoulder throbbed and I tried to cradle it across my body. It was still out of its joint, and I had no clue on how to put it back in. I had no idea what Danny was going to do next, or what he was capable of at this point. I was terrified to think of what he would do to Charlie when he was done with me.
He lifted me up so I was fully in his arms and I could hear a door open. "Are you ready for this Darling?" he asked me, knowing that I was awake. A gag had been shoved into my mouth again, and I would have been screaming at him if it hadn't been. "This is going to lead to the beginning of the end," he smiled at me. "After today, we will be together forever. And Charlie will be a small figment of your imagination." I glared at him and he slapped me across the face. "You will learn to love me." He stated clearly and matter-of-factly. "I will be the only person in your life. You will have to love me. You will have no other choice. I am your future, whether you like it or not."
I tried to look around me, but the surroundings were completely foreign. It still sounded like I was in the city, but it wasn't a part of the city that I recognized. The apartment I had been held in was nice enough, and the porch that Danny had off of his apartment looked into the city. It was a charcoal brown color, made of brick through all of it. Dumpsters lined the streets, and the smell was horrible. No wonder I had never been to this side of the city before. It was completely different than my side of New York. I felt bad that Danny had to live here, but now that I knew who he really was, I didn't want to even care.
When we made it to his car, he shoved me in the backseat and tied my hands to the headrest. "You will always be mine." He looked at me with possessive eyes, and for the first time that evening, I was really afraid of Danny. He had me in his car, and wanted to keep me. We could be driving to the middle of nowhere for all I knew, and that didn't make me worry any less. I tried to look for street signs but nothing looked familiar.
When he finally turned onto a highway I could tell we were heading into the city more. Taxi's and cars zoomed around us, and I was beginning to wonder if I would ever get away from him.
I had been in this car so many times with Charlie and Victor, all of us having a good time. Never in a million years would I have guessed that Danny was a killer, or that he wanted me. We had all been friends in high school and all throughout college, I couldn't think of one incident that would make him who he really was.
"Yes," he answered my unspoken question. "I killed your family," he looked back at me with a maniacal grin, swerving the car. "But, then again, they deserved it. They were keeping me away from you, and no one can do that, therefore they had to go," I looked out the window as tears fell from my eyes.
"You are monster," I could barely spit the words out.
"Yes Darling," he accent crept out. "But I am your monster, and you will never get away from me."
"Charlie will find you." I looked at him defiantly in the eyes. "He will find you and god help you when he does,"
Danny looked at me and merely laughed. "That boy thinks he is the perfect guy for you. He has loved you since we were in high school together, but he doesn't have the guts to even ask you out on a date. That is so lame. I love you, and you know it. If Charlie even tries to get to you, I will just have to introduce him to my little friend, and it will all be over." With that he pulled a gun from the glove box and waved it around. "Charlie doesn't stand a chance. I was planning on killing him anyways, just because he kept you from me. He deserves it too. He had so many opportunities to run and leave you to me, but the idiot stuck around and dug his own grave,"
"I won't let you hurt him," I whispered from the seat. "I love him. I will never love you," I barely got the sentence out before Danny turned around, anger in his eyes. Without a second thought, he raised and gun and pointed it at me. As he turned to focus on the road, he lowered it and then fired the gun.
As the bullet seared into my foot, I screamed and lost consciousness. The last thing I saw was blood pouring from my mangled foot, filling the back seat.
