Chapter 4: Total Recall

We just got back from shopping for five hours and I was beyond tired...

"So before we start this process do you mind explaining to me the things you plan on doing to me? I mean does it call for dying hair? Getting a tan-,"

"Relax sugar muffin, I'm not going to do anything big. However, you do need to do something with that hair. Don't worry, Brianna's got you. Gosh do you own a flat iron or even curlers for that matter?" Brianna pestered.

"Oh my fucking god, can you stop complaining about how I look and just total recall me already! SHEESH!" I screeched getting slightly annoyed by her presence. She rolled her eyes before dragging me to the bathroom and sitting me down on the stool.

"Okay. Let's see here...I mean you have great attributes. We just need to make you look more noticeable." Brianna said standing behind me as her eyes glazed over my face. I just simply sighed and continued to look at myself.

And I soon realized that she was right. I mean my hair looked like a total mess. It looked all dry and just plain ol disgusting. My skin all pasty and white, looking like a newborn vampire. Don't even get me started on the acne that threatened to make me social suicide if I ever talked to anyone. I look...terrible. How am I supposed to get Reece to like me looking like this...?

"I'm going to wash your hair, layer it and then I'm going to darken it. But not much, we want bad ass not grim reaper." Brianna said. I nodded. "Okay."

"Okay? No restraints? No complaining? Just okay?" Brianna gasped. "You're about to get a bitch slap if you don't shut up and wash my hair." I glared at her. She just chuckled raising her hands in defense before she pushed my head under the faucet as warm water ran through my locks. Her hands massaged my head pressing in shampoos and conditioners. Once she was done she began blow drying my hair.

After it was dried she grabbed a box from the bag when we went shopping earlier.

"Now it's time for my favorite part! The dying process!" Brianna said excitedly. I rolled my eyes and she started doing the prep work. I bit my lip nervously. Oh god I hope don't look like an idiot after this.

"So Elle, when did you fall in love with your Romeo?" Brianna asked starting conversation.

"I don't love him, I just think he's really cute..." I said unsure. Brianna chuckled. "Trust me, if it wasn't love then you wouldn't be willing to change yourself for him, now would you?" She countered causing my hands to go all clammy.

"Well I don't know, I mean it's not like I've ever had a conversation with him before. Don't you have to do that in order to be in love with someone?"

"That my naïve young Juliet is what I like to call silent love. It's when you see this person and then all of a sudden you just get this burst of feeling that come from nowhere. You haven't spoken with them and you are never going to because you're afraid of embarrassing yourself...it happens all the time." Brianna said actually sounding quite intellectual. Almost as if this has happened to her before.

I shrugged off the latter. "I-I guess."

"All done, now we just need to wash with this conditioner and sustainer. Head back in!" She said before pushing my head underneath the faucet again. Once she pulled me from beneath it she wrapped a towel over my head and continued to dry it. Then she removed the towel and I noticed my hair was now a dark brown color. I LOVED IT! It made me look...sexy. I smiled at myself in the mirror.

"I look hot!" I said and Brianna sarcastically chuckled. "I wouldn't go that far, bad ass maybe, but hot? HA! I'm hot you're just...eh. We'll save that for later." She smirked before snipping at my ends as I silently wished for her death.
