Snape had to sneak away from the school in order to pay small ungrateful visits to Elizabeth. He managed once a week, without drawing any suspicion to himself. Elizabeth was sitting cross armed in the living room, staring into the flames and ignoring every word he said.
“Look you might not understand, but I am setting my own life at state, traveling back and forth from the school!” He growled, his patience gone. She didn’t answer; just shut him out, a move that only made him angrier. “Would you stop it!” He sneered and grabbed her arm hard, forcing her to look at him. But it was like he wasn’t there. That he was invisible, like she could see right through him. She acted as she was staring out the window, which was behind Snape.
It wasn’t only Snape who felt frustrated. Inside, every time he was gone, Elizabeth’s body was like a mine field. She couldn’t stay still, be calm. She couldn’t sleep and she was instantly worried of being found and captured. By the dark lord, if he found out her alliance with Dumbledore, or the ministry if they found out whom she in reality was.
“Get out of my sight!” Snape sneered, intending to show her away, but the force in his arm was so strong that she landed on the ground. A dunk came from the floor as her already half injured wrist took the blow. A small pained moan came from her throat, before she managed to keep the rest inside. Biting her lip so hard that she wouldn’t show any feelings. Closing her eyes shut that they wouldn’t reveal how she felt. Snape stood there, frozen and in shock. He didn’t know what to say. Elizabeth took his silence as another coldness and stumbled to her feet. Not looking at him and holding her arm to her chest she walked out of the room. It took a couple of minutes before Snape got the feeling back in his body and sat down.
Elizabeth was sitting on the small guest room. It wasn’t big, not at all. But right now she had nowhere else to go. Carefully she took her wrist in her right hand and stroke it where it hurt the most. Small drops escaped her eyelids, but she didn’t make a sound. It was broken she could tell that, but messing with heeling spells wasn’t a good idea. Not even for a Witch as her. She had heard the story about what happened to Potter 3 years ago, at the Quidditch pitch. When that fraud of a hero, the defense against the dark art teacher was going to fix Potters broken arm. He removed all of the boys bones!
Besides Snape would only hate her more if he found out he had to fix more of her mess. No, a very bad bandage would hold temporally. Not that it would hold much though, consider she knew nothing about nursing.
Later that night, there was a tiny knock at the door before Snape entered. Without a word he opened the badly wrapped bandage and examined her broken and now swollen wrist. With a sigh he gave her some heeling potion and secured the bandage properly. Elizabeth watched him in silence. Thinking about how long his hair was. Almost as long as Lucius. But Lucius did everything in his power to keep it that way, Snape’s only was that way. It reminded her on when Lucius had a bad hair day, and it made her smile.
It was in Malfoy Manor. Elizabeth had been staying as a guest for a couple of days before a very important meeting with the dark lord. She had entered the kitchen and was chewing on an apple, given to her by a house elf. “Fix it Narcissa.” She heard a small growl from inside the living room. The sneaky person she was got filled with curiosity and she just couldn’t hold herself.
“I am telling you! It is falling off.” She heard Lucius desperate voice speak. Someone was muttering spells. She peeked into the room and saw Narcissa trying her best to please her husband. Muttering spells to keep Lucius hair from falling off. Lucius was dragging in his hair looking horrified when he saw long white hairs falling down. Elizabeth couldn’t hold herself and broke out in laugher, bolting in the door. Lucius looked shocked, but Elizabeth was laughing so hard that she couldn’t stand. Falling to the floor, while tears fell down her cheeks. “I…cant…breathe…” she managed to stutter out between the giggles. “Having a bad hair day Lucius?” She asked mockingly when she had managed to get to her feet.
“What are you smiling about?” Snape asked, bringing her back from her flashback. “Oh… When Lucius had a bad hair day.” She said. Snape nodded and his scowl fell deeper. “I remember that.” Without a word he finished up and left.
They were now in the kitchen. Lucius fallowed after her. “I would be rather grateful if you didn’t mention this to anyone.” He said, trying to not reveal his embarrassment. Snape just entered the room, and Lucius lowered his voice. But Elizabeth interrupted, speaking so loudly that Snape would hear. “Don’t worry Lucius, you can always get a bit from Snape. He would be happly to give you some, considering his desperate need for financial support.” It actually made Lucius laugh, and Snape left in embarrassments.
Elizabeth got a numb feeling in her stomach. She had forgotten that.
