Elizabeth woke up with a numb feeling in her stomach. Tears once again were threatening to spill over. She knew why Snape was acting the way he did. To be honest she had always known. He didn’t love her. He could never love her. He still loved Lilly and he would always do. After all these years. Now she couldn’t hold them back anymore and she felt them leak down. Painful sobs came from her throat and she felt so miserable. She felt so alone. The only reason he helped her was because he was the good one! The one that always did the right thing. She was not, had never been. She bit her teeth together and squeezed her eyes shut. It hurt, more that you could imagine.
It was then she took the decision. Drying her tears and cleaning herself up she walked down the stairs, passing Sirius on the way. “Move Dog!” She sneered and walked out the front door. The second she was out she apparated.
The big mansion was in front of her and she felt her heart rise, but quickly managed to calm it down. With a wave of her wand the gate opened and she walked in. Within seconds she was pinned to the ground.Fenrir Greyback was on top of her, sneering in her ear and she felt herself tense. “Get of me you pathetic wimp!” She shrieked angrily.
“Do it.” She heard a voice from behind. It belonged to Lucius. She felt the weight of the beast disappear and she got to her feet. “I am going to kill you!” She said angrily and drew out her wand. “Elizabeth don’t-” Lucius said, but she laughed and spoke. “Avada Kadav-“ “Expelliarmus.” Her wand flew out of her hand before she could finish.
“Elizabeth what a lovely surprise.” Voldemort spoke. She blinked before she got to her senses. “My Lord.” Her bow wasn’t exaggerating big, but not to small either. It was the bow showing respect. “Why don’t we go inside, shall we?” His voice was soft, but dangerous. She flung her traveling cloak over one shoulder and picked up her wand. “Move!” She said pointing it at Fenrir. Witch he obeyed within a second. They entered the big meeting room and she noticed Nagini coming closer toward them. The snake stopped right in front of her and she stared at it. “Nagini.” She said, nodding towards it before turning her attention towards the Lord. “I must say my dear Elizabeth that I am very… disappointed in you.” His voice was dangerous, but still calm. She felt Nagini’s body curl around her neck, but not so tight that she couldn’t breathe. She swallowed soundlessly and had to focus not to panic. Keep her heartbeat under control.
“I thought you and Severus were…working together.” He said. “Only to please you my Lord. But Dumbledore is not what he used to be, Snape can do it by himself.” She said, a little bit more disgusted at the end of the sentence. “I see..” Voldemort said, considering if he believed her or not. Yesterday he would have been sure, but now he wasn’t so positive. Yet he did not wish to show any sign of weakness. “I wish to be given another mission my Lord, if you allow it.” She said helping the snake who was beginning to get a little bit heavy down from her shoulders. She waited and waited, the room was silent. The others had left from Voldemorts order. When she was on the edge to get on her knees and beg for mercy he nodded his head. “Very well.” His words were said slowly and a cruel l smile spread on his lips. “We attack in no less than a week in the department of Mysteries. I expect you to be ready.” “Yes my Lord.” She answered and got to her feet bowing and walking out the door. Her face had been a poker face the entire time she had been there, impossible to read and her mind impossible to break into.
The week passed slowly by. She didn’t eat much and she didn’t have her usual smile. She just wanted to forget everything. It was the day of the attack. She would travel with Lucius and Bellaltrix. “Ah its so good to have you back.” Lucius said. “Shut up.” She snapped and apparated.
They landed in the middle of a corridor in the department of mysteries. She was wearing her mask, so she wouldn’t get recognized. She heard footsteps coming towards them and voices, but then they stopped. She walked forward tracing them. Bellaltrixes voice roared the walls in her sugary sweet playful tone, that screamed danger. “Pitty pitty Potter, come to play?” Elizabeth gave a half smile that didn’t reach her eyes under her mask.
Everything happened fast. Spells flew everywhere and other death eaters joined her on each sides. Making them outnumber Potters gang. Bellaltrix had a clear shot towards Potter, but Elizabeth lunged forward and slammed her hand away, making the deathly spell break three shelves of orbs with prophets. “NO! He belongs to the dark Lord.” She half whispered, half screamed. Nobody could recognize her voice. Bellaltrix had taken of her mask and she looked so angry that she was almost certain she would kill her there and then. There was a sneering sound from her throat before she turned away and began casting stupefy and disarming spells instead. The chase continued and their team was split up. The rest of the death eaters fallowed the kids, but spells were flying directly at her and she lunged into a large circled room. It was a dead end. The room was similar to the one with the orb, except that this one, didn’t have any orbs in it. The only thing that the room contained was a large stone. Her mask had fallen off in the chaos and a spell hit her from behind making her fall down on the floor. She backed up against the rock.
The man came closer to her. His robe black, his face pale and his eyes dark. Severus. “Severus I-” She began but he said coldly. “You almost had me fooled.” He pointed his wand at her at the same time as he picked up hers and put it in his robe. She crumbled a little bit together as his wand touched her neck. There were footsteps coming and soon Dumbledore joined them. She didn’t want to look at him. The look he was giving her though, she could feel it. Other aurors came to in a matter of seconds, but the eye contact between Snape and Elizabeth were never broken and it felt like hours. It was so silent that you could hear her breath. Snape was searching her eyes the short time he had with her. Trying to understand her, but when the aurors took her away he realized there were no explanation.
