~Nate~
She hissed at me, struggling underneath me with unbelievable strength. There was something off about her eyes. They weren't the usual chocolate brown I loved. They more of a hazel...
Not Diana. That was the thought that repeated in my mind like some kind of alarm. It had my mind going in overdrive.
I sensed her as an enemy right now.
Her fangs were elongated and she was trying to bite me. I winced as she actually managed to sink her teeth into my shoulder. She took that opportunity of my temporary weakness to push my off and get back on her feet.
She started running.
"No, Diana!" I jumped to my feet and sped after her, struggling to keep her in sight. It didn't help with all the dead, hanging vines that kept getting in my face. Damn those.
I stopped when I couldn't see her anymore, but I knew she also stopped running. I waited impatiently, still glancing around for any sign of her.
Suddenly, lightning fast, she was thrown at me. I caught her, falling to the ground on my back, hard. I groaned in pain, then opened my eyes.
Diana was staring at me creepily, eyes still hazel. Then she bared her teeth at me.
Before she could do anything else, I used my vampire speed to pin to her to a tree. I had a firm grip on her upper arms.
"Diana, this isn't you!" I started as she struggled against me. A shrill scream escaped her lips. "You're being mind controlled! You have to resist it, please." I had to yell over her screaming.
"Let go of me." She growled. She certainly sounded like Diana.
I glanced down at her neck to see blood. Her own blood. My eyes widened with realization. It was her scream I heard, and her blood I smelled that lured me here.
"You have the strongest mind, Dee." My voice also came out as a growl because I was trying to keep in a scream when she started digging her long nails into my stomach. At least she stopped screaming. "Don't let someone else control you. You don't take orders."
She released her pressure, staring up at me. Her eyes flashed her normal brown before going back to hazel. She was fighting.
I was panting, exhausted from the pain. My grip on her loosened as she clutched her head, screaming in agony. It hurt to see her like this.
She fell to her knees, growling as she reopened her eyes. They were blood red.
I knelt to her level and put a hand on her cheek. She glanced at me, then her snarl disappeared as I let my thumb rub her cheek.
"Nate?" She asked, eyes slowly going back to chocolate brown. I gave her smile.
"You're okay, babe." She put a hand on my wrist. "You're okay."
"How sweet." My head snapped up and I glared at some other male. He completely fit the description Rose and Diana gave him. He was the same one.
Diana's eyes widened as she spotted him. He must've been the one who attacked her. He chuckled. "Getting cozy, are we?"
"What the hell do you want?" I snapped at him.
"You guys can't escape." He said. My frown deepened as I helped Diana stand up with me. Our gazes were fixed on him with confused glares. "No matter what you do, because we have a weapon you can't run from."
Then he turned and disappeared. I knew it was useless to follow him, so I just glanced at Diana. She was already looking at me, mirroring my expression with her arms crossed.
