~Rose~Joe unleashed his fangs and hissed at the creature who had risen from Luc's dead body. It hesitated for a second before abruptly turning to face me. I stared into its eyes, horrified by what was in front of me.
Holy-
"Run!" Joe shouted as all three of them picked up speed, advancing towards me. "Go!"
They were on all fours, crawling towards me at a fast pace and somehow managing to get past that invisible wall to reach me. I guessed it was a one-way thing.
I wasted no time in taking off. They clearly recognized Joe as a fellow demon.
Would he turn into one of them too? Fallon did...
My mind went back to just moments before when he turned. When he shifted into that horrific creature. Even his transition was disgusting and terrifying, but I hadn't been able to remove my gaze from the scene no matter how much I tried. I was frozen in fear.
I shuddered at the thought and continued running. I risked a glance behind me to spot Joe fighting with one of them violently, even looking a tad bit fearful of the creature.
I couldn't change into a bird and fly away, for two reasons.
One, I couldn't just ditch Joe or Matt.
Two, if I slowed down even a little bit to turn into one they'd catch me.
So instead, I ran into one of the mansions. It was dark and gigantic, like all the other buildings, but it seemed as if no one was here.
I silently prayed that was so as I slammed the door in their faces. I saw them scrambling at it through the glass window of the door, their nails causing long white scratches to appear everywhere.
I knew they would soon break it, so I rushed into the kitchen and looked for something to use to help defend myself better against them. A knife.
I stared at it in disbelief, thinking that of all the things this was a pretty lame weapon to use against a couple of demons. All the while I heard the glass break and their eyes landed on me as soon as they entered the room.
I had no idea which two these were, until I noticed that one of them still had a whole suit on excluding the jacket while the other was completely bare. Luc and Fallon, I assumed. Nate was wearing a black dress shirt.
I focused on killing Luc. I couldn't risk it with Fallon.
I threw the knife at Fallon, wincing at the loud screech that rose in the air as it plunged into his chest and stained his white shirt. Or...where his chest was supposed to be.
Then I turned my gaze to Luc and led him upstairs, holding that special stake in my hand tightly. I slammed a room door shut behind me, but his head bust through it, creating a large hole in the process. He hissed at me with his mouth wide open, that disgusting tongue flickering out.
I backed into the wall, seeing no other exits. My breath was coming out in short pants as I watched the demon come closer, then jump at me.
I shrieked and held the stake out at him at the last moment. He stopped when it sunk into his stomach, then hissed again. Its hand shot out and scratched my face.
Its powerful hit knocked me to the ground and I stared up at him in panic, trying desperately to get back up. The stake was still inside him and he turned to me, quickly covering the distance between us.
I whimpered and backed away from him, feeling something wet drip down my cheek. His claws shot out and wrapped around my shoulders, lifting me off the ground.
