The clock reflected into my eyes, ticking away.
12:00.a.m
Somewhere outside, church bells started ringing. Loud booming cracks sounded, fireworks exploded in the sky to celebrate new year. There was one small window just above the ground th...
She said she sensed something different about them; just as Nate had. Except this girl, Abigail Watson, had an even worse reaction to it.
"Stay the hell away from me, you devils!" She yelled at Fallon and his little brother. Fallon just stood there with his arms crossed, watching her with a predatory and super-irritated expression while Joe had his hands on his hips, looking up at the ceiling in exasperation as if this reaction wasn't a new occurrence to him.
We were back in their house with Matt, Nate and Diana. The last two had been waiting here when we came back.
"So what did you two find?" I had asked her. She mischievously smiled at me.
"Some kind of werewolf stuck in mid-transformation. It was pretty awkward; the lengths we had to go through just to defeat it. That body..." She sighed dreamily. I had raised my eyebrow at her questioningly but left it at that. Obviously there was more than just 'something' going on between her and Nate.
And now here we were; watching the two brothers while wondering what the hell they were to cause this horrible of a reaction from Abby. None of us asked yet, though.
"We're not asking you to get super involved," Joe told her reasonably, but you could tell he was losing his patience.
"Just a teeney weeney spell and you're free," Fallon added. "Is that too much to ask for?!" Unlike Joe, he wasn't even trying to hide how irritated he was.
Abby's head snapped up to them from where she was held down on the couch by Matt with one hand on her collarbone area, keeping her in a half-reclined position. "I will not help you abominations of life!"
Matt turned to look at the brothers, eyeing Fallon suspiciously. "I can compel any supernatural, y'know. As long as I'm older than them."
"And you waited until now to tell us?!" Fallon hissed. He was losing his patience rapidly.
Joe stepped forward and whispered something into his ear. It was too soft for me to eavesdrop on, so I resorted to watching Fallon's reaction closely. His eye brows sunk, then shot back up as realization hit him.
"He's not dead," he muttered, but we could hear him.
"Who is?" I asked. He glanced at me.
"No one."
"Y'know what supernatural Joe and I found?" Matt suddenly spoke up as if he was unable to contain it anymore. He looked ticked. "Someone who looked exactly like this guy," he gestured towards Fallon, who narrowed his eyes at him.
"Wait," Diana stepped forward. "Exactly like him? As in; all the features were the same?"
"Yup. Joe was there, he told me." He turned to Joe. He raised his head to Matt and gave him a cold look. "He said he wasn't his brother. Tell them Joe. Tell them what you told me, about him not being 'contained'. Go ahead."
"Matt—" He started warningly.
"Tell us the truth, Joe," Matt cut him off. His emerald eyes were blazing and I could see he was holding back a lot of his anger, which was pretty uncommon. One thing about Matt: it takes a lot to make him angry, but once it's done he completely loses it.
Joe snarled.
Everyone except Fallon seemed startled at the fact that his eyes were different. His irises were crimson, like normal vampires, but his eye-whites had turned completely black. That was not normal.
