~Rose~
It's been three days since the party and three days since the last time I had seen Stoyan. It was as if they all just left us alone, stopping their attacks, their taunts, their stupid games. But I knew I shouldn't assume that they lost interest in it all—one thing I had learned from experiencing the effects of their games and encounters between us was that we always had to be alert, ready for anything.
Fallon had not said anything about his unspoken beef with Stoyan either. I knew he was jealous, but he refused to talk when I tried to confront him about it. Diana had woken up and now she was up and about, being her usual self while Matt remained in the bed, resembling some sort of crazy patient. It pained me to see him like that.
And now here I was, trying to find something to do as Nate had insisted that I left. He didn't want me to see him like that. Since I was now a half vampire, the very thought of drinking blood disgusted me. I hadn't drank it for a while.
So now my throat was starting to burn. I tried my best to delay the blood intake as much as possible by eating human food, but now it was starting to get to me. I didn't want to quench my thirst, not at all.
I tried to ignore it—and even more so when a few hours later, I started walking towards civilization. Blood lust had drawn me there and now I regretted relenting to the need and instead concentrated on getting out of there as fast as possible.
"I think you'd look better with a lighter shade."
"Damn, she looks fine."
"Hey, are you okay girl? You look a little out of it..."
"I love this skirt, it totally suits me. What do you think?"
People surrounded me, non-stop jabbering the whole time while I struggled not to give in. I clutched my head with one hand and used the other to wrap around myself as an attempt of warming my soon-to-be-ice-cold skin. They bumped into me at times and I had to keep from hissing at them, or seizing them right then and there and draining them.
Stupid humans can't just stay home, safe from all the dangers? Instead they flood the streets and bicker and laugh and...Look delicious.
I increased my stumble to a sprint. I had to get out of there. If I didn't, who knows? There would have been a couple missing people. Or maybe three, or four, or—
"You're trespassing."
I stopped when I heard a growl and I turned my head to my left. There, in front of a bush was a crouched down man glowering at me. I averted my head as he slipped on a pair of shorts.
Where the hell did he store those? Did he happened to know that someone was going to "trespass" here and just tossed a pair of shorts in the bushes?
"This is wolf territory," he hissed. I refrained from scowling at him, struggling not to let my true face accidentally flash. In truth, I hated wolves. Vampires and wolves were natural enemies ever since one of our kind had a witch put a curse on them, one that would trap them in their wolf forms at full moon and go completely berserk. It caused them to harm even their own mates.
In retaliation they had a Wise One make us slaves to the eternal blood lust. In the past, we could control it. It was like drinking water. But ever since that day, we hurt more people just for blood. The one thing that, if lacked, can cause the true age of our bodies to catch up with us. That only applied with full blooded vampires. The need for it made us kill people.
I took a glance around at my surroundings. It looked like we were in the middle of the woods, but I knew wolves traveled in packs and his was not far. Located in the middle of the forest...Not a good spot to me. And what was worse, I had no idea where this was. Everything seemed unfamiliar. I must have been running very fast for a long while.
