As Shivay drove, Ana just couldn’t sit still.

She kept shifting in her seat—leaning forward, then sideways, then back again—glancing at him every few seconds like she could somehow make him spill the beans.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked for the fifth time, her voice a mix of curiosity and impatience.

“Patience, my love,” Shivay drawled, one corner of his mouth curling into that maddening smirk.

Ana pouted dramatically, crossing her arms. He chuckled at the sight, reached over, and tugged gently at her cheeks. “Stop being cute. It’s distracting.”

Her face heated instantly. “I’m not—ugh—Shivay!” She swatted his hand away, but her heart was already betraying her with its unsteady beat.

His grin only widened.

A few minutes later, Shivay pulled into a McDonald’s drive-thru. Ana immediately arched a brow at him, not even bothering to hide her suspicion.
He didn’t say a word—just casually shrugged his shoulder and pointed his finger right at her stomach.

“Let’s feed that monster inside, shall we?”

Right on cue, her stomach betrayed her with the loudest growl imaginable. Her eyes went wide, and heat crept up her cheeks. Great. Now she was digging her own grave in embarrassment.

Shivay’s lips curved in slow amusement, his voice dripping with mock drama. “Ohhh, and there it is. The beast speaks.”

Ana rolled her eyes so hard it was a miracle they didn’t get stuck. “Shut up.”

By the time the bag landed in her hands, she was already tearing into the nuggets. Correction—gobbling them like she’d been starved for a week. Shivay watched her for a whole five seconds before snorting.

“Slow down, sweetheart. The nuggets aren’t running away.”

She glared mid-bite. “Don’t judge me. You’re the one who kidnapped me without food prep time.”

“Kidnapped?” He laughed. “Sweetheart, I’m rescuing the public from hearing your feral stomach growls.”

She huffed but kept eating. “Fine. But can you now tell me where we’re going?”

Shivay gave her a flat look. “Jaan… give your brain and mouth a break from questioning. Focus on the food.”

She snorted at him but listened—sort of. Fifteen minutes later, the car rolled to a stop. Ana turned her head, ready to pounce with another question, but before she could get a word out, Shivay pointed out the window.
