AUTHOR'S POV

“I love you, jannaya.”

The world around her faded. Everything went blur to her eyes, except the person in front of her. The sound of thunder and rain became deaf to her ears. The only thing that rang in her mind was his words. Nonstop.

Her mouth went dry as she stared at him. Her mind failed to process anything. The warmth of his skin did nothing but made the situation more difficult for her. And the eye contact they held… it was the only thing which kept her grounded.

Doubt swirled in her heart. Not on him or his feelings, she can see the truth in his beautiful blue orbs, but on herself.

She is scared of waking up with unfulfilled dreams.

She is hesitant about herself– that if she is truly ready for this and clear about her feelings, because not by any slightest change she wants to hurt him. Not now, not in the future.

The emotions lurking in her eyes didn't go unnoticed by him. He himself was scared of her reaction-- practically shivering from inside yet he decided not to show it and kept playing a soft smile on his lips.

Yes, you heard it right, the great Aryaman Raghuwanshi is under-confident and wrapped in self-doubt. Still, after everything, he tried to comfort her with his touch and make her believe in himself through his eyes.

Finally, after a long three minutes and forty-two seconds of silence, Shaarvika whispered in a barely audible hesitant voice, “Do you really mean it?” Her eyes were filled with hope disguised as tears. Her hands, earlier dropped by her sides, now rose shakily and framed his hands cupping her face.

“Do I look like I'm not serious?” He whispered in the same tone as her but with confidence. His voice, vulnerable. “I love you, my Shaarvika. So very much. More than words could define. More than anyone could imagine. More than this world knows the meaning of the word ‘love’.”

Her eyes shone with happiness. She let out a small blissful chuckle through her tears. She pressed her lips together tightly, afraid of her overwhelming ecstasy and excitement, and wrapped her arms around him, pulling him in her embrace.
