Two of the ladies who worked at the orphanage called Richard Grayson and Tina Grayson into separate rooms, little did they know that was the last time they would see each other for years.
Tina follows the lady into a smaller room. There is an older man waiting for her, well Tina assumes he is older since he has gray hair. The man is also about 6 feet tall, well built for an older guy (obviously he still works out), wears a pair of nice pants, a casual polo top, very fancy sneakers, and wears an eye patch over his right eye.
The orphanage worker introduces Tina to the man saying his name is Slade Wilson. After a few papers are signed, Tina is following Slade into his car in the front of the parking lot with her only bag of belongings, which includes her old performing outfit, practice outfit, pjs, hair brush, toothbrush, and her stuffed animal Robin."You seem quite for such a young girl, I suspected you would have a ton of questions for me," Slade said while heading toward the freeway.
"What is there to ask about? My parents are dead, I have been taken away from the Circus which is the only home I ever knew, and I am forced to live with a strange old man without my brother," Tina answers without even looking up from the window.
"Well, when you put it that way, not only do you sound sassy, but you are only thinking of the negatives," Slade says. Noticing that the girl in his passenger seat did not answer he continues talking. "Listen girl, whether you like it or not, we are in this together now. And I will not make it seem like we are family, but I would like to maybe see you as, I don't know whats the word I am thinking of is, maybe an heir."
"An heir? Who says that kind of thing," Tina says chuckling for the first time. Slade smirks and chuckles along with her.
"You will soon see, that I am not like most people," Slade started to say.
"If you haven't noticed, I am not used to normal, so maybe this 'being your heir' thing, could work," Tina answers smiling for the first time since the accident.

"This is where we will be staying for tonight, tomorrow we will continue our drive home," Slade says opening the door to the hotel room.
"You mean you don't live in Gotham?" Tina questions looking around the nice hotel sweet.
"No, I mainly live in Star City, but I have houses all over the world," Slade answers carefully.
"What were you doing in Gotham?"
"...Business meeting."
"Oh I see," Tina says.
"When we get to Star, I will let you go out and buy anything you need or want after I show you your new home," Slade tells her after a few moments of awkward silence.
*Sigh* "Okay. I kind of just wish we were staying in Gotham so I could get some revenge on the man that murdered my parents," Tina confesses.
"What kind of revenge? Killing them?" Slade asks carefully.
"Well maybe, I don't know, isn't killing wrong?" Tina asks without looking into Slade's eyes.
"If there is a good enough reason, I think it shouldn't be a problem. I agree and I think it would be good for the world if we eliminated all these people committing murders and other horrible crimes," Slade tells her.
"Yeah you have a point, I wish I could help in that way though," Tina says continuing to stare at her shoes.
"Maybe you can young child, maybe you can," Slade says and as he does Tina looks into his eyes with hope.

"Wow you live here?" Tina asks as she steps into the large mansion after that long car drive from Gotham to Star City.
"Yes I do normally stay here now a days. Unless I have business that is in a different major city, then I don't bother with driving the long distance. Now, there is a swimming pool, fitness center, and gymnasium all on this floor, my room is on the top floor, your's is on the second floor and it has it's own bathroom, the kitchen is also on this bottom floor, and there is a fully finished basement with entertainment set. My only rule is don't invite someone over without my permission first. Any questions?" Slade asks.
"Just a couple. What kind of business do you do? How did you lose your eye? And why did you adopt me?" Tina asks sounding completely innocent but you can tell that she knows that something is not completely normal about this.
"Well those aren't about the house, but I suppose I can answer your questions. I am mostly retired now, I only come out for really big jobs or super favors, cause obviously I am pretty set when it comes to money. I am a mercenary, which is why I said your revenge may be an option," Slade tells her turning around, facing her, and leaning on the counter nervously.
"So you kill people for money or favors?" Tina questions.
"Well that was blunt but yes," Slade answers.
"Why would you tell me this? What if I was scared and I ran to the police?" Tina asks him.
"Tell me Tina, do you believe in fate?"
"In what manner of speaking?" Tina asks. When she says this Slade gave her a look that just completely showed his shocked expression on her advanced language skills.
"Fate as in the world decided for you that it something should happen for you and there is no avoiding it or that if you did avoid it something worse would happen. I think it is destiny that I took you in, I didn't mean to show up at the orphanage. I was finishing up a job and asking for directions and the lady told me about the situation and I felt it was destiny that we wound up there on the same night. I also think it was fate that I ended up with you and not your brother. So Tina, correct me if I am wrong, but you have no intention of going to the police do you?"
"What you are saying makes sense, and I think I do believe in fate because how else could you explain when someone dies or something similar. And you are also right in saying that I will not call the police. No one would have wanted me and the orphanage would be only a little bit safer than the streets. So why should I turn down the change to have a dream home, food, and any other things I could want or need. In fact, I am interested in how you became a mercenary," Tina says. As she speaks you can tell by the way she holds herself that she is to old for her age, that she is wise beyond her years, for whatever reason.
"So what would you say if I offered to train you before I fully retired from this business?"
"Then I guess you got yourself an heir."
