Athena pov:

A few days have passed and things seem to be getting more calm. We explained things to those who needed to know and they gave us some time to get settled in. We moved back into our old house, given the fact we got new furniture and the old memorabilia items we hid away before blowing the house up.

It felt more lonely than before though. Arthur has a room he stays in when he spends the night but he doesn't live here. As for the other room… I don't visit it. It reminds me too much of Ryker. I don't like thinking about Ryker, it makes me feel sad and guilty. I'm the same age he was when he died. Sixteen years old is too young for a kid like him to die.

Having finished furnishing and decorating my room the night before makes things easier to get up and ready. I visited Gabby and Dani the other day, it was nice to see my friends for the first time in five years. We all cried a lot before stealing one of my dad's cars and driving downtown to get wasted.

So waking up this morning with a headache and upset stomach made me cruse myself from last night. Getting dressed I slip into a dark blue crop top, black ripped pants, heeled boots, and a leather jacket. Hearing a car honk outside my house I grab my purse and head downstairs.

“I'm heading to school.” I call out to my mom and dad. They sit in the kitchen eating and talking as I stroll by.

“Not so fast, princess. Are you carrying?” My dad stops me. I groan and roll my eyes as I reach into my purse and pull out a mini gun and knife.

“Of course I am. I'm not dumb.” I grumble and stuff the items back into my purse.

“Talk with respect, Athena.” My mother chides me. Rolling my eyes again I smile softly when my dad hugs me and ruffles my hair.

“Be good- oh and try to get into contact with Hades. Artemis said she hasn't broken the news to her yet.” She tells me as she kisses my cheek and lets me leave.

Oh wow… I haven't thought about Hades in a long time. Haha, I used to have a fat crush on her 5 years ago. Feels strange to think about it now, glad I'm over it. I wonder how much she's changed over the course of time?

“Will do!” I wave them both off before heading out the door. I squeal and smile as I see Gabby and Dani in Dani's car waiting for me.

“Get in bitch, we're gonna be late.” Dani smirks at me and honks the horn again. Shaking my head playfully I jump into her convertible and buckle up.

“Oh fuck you, drive already.” I laugh and so does she. Gabby groans and holds her head in pain.

“You're both so loud.” She whines and covers her head with her hoodie and slumps further into the back seat. We giggle and ignore the grouchy girl suffering next to us.

“So, I don't know if anyone told you but Hades does go to our school. Even if she doesn't show up for most of it. Oh and she doesn't talk as much as she used to.” Dani explains to me as she drives us to school. I nod my head and lift a brow, curious to know this information.

“She wasn't super talkative before so I imagine it can't be worse.” I shrug it off but Dani scoffs, making me look at her confused.

Girl, she literally refuses to speak. Ever since she thought you guys died she stopped talking. Speaking of, does she know you're alive?” Dani glances at me briefly before focusing back on the road.

“Uhm, no. From what my dad told me, she has no clue. Let's hope she's not too mad at me.” I laugh and wave it off, not thinking much of it all. If I thought too hard I'd start to feel guilty for leaving her.
