Arthur Pov:
I shoot men down as I move around the abandoned building, I can see Uncle Axe, Damien, and Claudio taking out people as they move around. Sliding across the floor I shoot down three men and push my back against some cover as I try to catch my breath.
Looking over the broken window I look down and see my father fighting Midnight. Only… it didn't look like my father. She looked ravenous, rabid, evil even. She moved around wildly, attacking him like she was a rabid animal that hadn't eaten in years.
He only laughed and took the hits or blocked them, not a single ounce of fear in his eyes. He looked cocky even. I wanted to help but flashing images of the last time I saw her like this played through my mind.
The feel of her hands around my throat, the anger and hatred in her eyes, feeling myself get knocked out from the force of her blows. All of it played through my mind. All of it made me shake with fear and keep still, my feet unmoving.
I froze more when I saw dull piercing blue eyes look up and find mine. My breathing came in short and I felt like I was prey under her gaze. I could feel my hands shaking around my rifle as she held my gaze while holding off Midnight.
I jumped when an armed man spun me around and pointed a gun in my face. I gasped when a bullet landed in his head, an angry looking Damien staring at me from behind the man that fell to the floor dead.
“Stay focused!” He shouted at me and focused back on the men around him. Nodding weakly I took a couple breaths and looked over the window again.
Lifting my gun I steadied it on the sill and remembered my training from my father. Keeping steady aim on Midnight I took some shots and landed a few. I was shocked when he shrugged them off and kept attacking my dad.
“Everyone check in!” I could hear Axes' voice come in through the coms.
“Claudio and I are finishing up the last few in the building.” My uncle spoke through the coms. Some grunts followed his words but he sounded fine.
“I'm- I have eyes on Midnight… and my dad. They're fighting but he did something to her. She looks like she did back in Florida.” I tap my coms and speak into them, keeping my eyes focused on the two fighting down below.
“That's not good. Keep your eyes on them. I'm heading your way.” Axe says in the coms. I take a deep breath and focus on the fight below.
My father launches at Midnight and wrestles him to the floor as he cackles. I can't hear what they're saying but I can hear her angry growls and animalistic snarls. I watch as she straddles him and starts to beat his face in, sending punch after punch into his skull.
Blood splatters onto the floor and her fist before he kicks her off of him and laughs loudly. I watch as he jumps up and charges her, easily picking her up onto his shoulder and slamming her into a metal pillar that dents and bends under the force. When she slumps slightly he laughs and knees her hard in the face, breaking her nose.
Grabbing her by the hair he tosses her away and walks towards her slowly. He says something to her as he walks but I can't hear it. My heart hammers in my chest when he pushes his foot onto her throat, making her claw at his leg and thrash around like a wild animal.
“What are you doing! Take the shot!” Axe slides up next to me and shakes me from my daze of watching the fight.
“I- but- what if I miss?”
