December 25th

"Good morning." She says as I walk inside the kitchen.

"Morning mom." I say.

"Did you sleep well?" She asks.

"I did." I say while walking over to the table and sitting down.

"Good, I had them change the mattress and before you came." She says.

"Where's Dad?" I ask.

"In his office, he should be down in a minute." She says.

"Okay." I say while digging into my food.

I feel her eyes on me while eating causing me to sigh as I look at her.

"What?" I ask.

"Nothing." She says.

"Obviously it's something or you wouldn't be staring." I say.

"I was thinking that it would be nice if your father and I could meet your boyfriend since  the two of you have been seeing each other for a while now." She says.

"He's not my boyfriend." I say.

"Well what ever you young people call your significant other these days." She says.

"We're taking a break." I say.

"Again, what is it for this time?" She asks.

"He came to my house and saw Fuego there." I say.

"Please tell me that you are not seeing that man again." She says.

"No I am not but even if I was that is my business." I say.

"So if you're not seeing him then what was he doing at your house?" She asks.

"I bruised a few ribs and he was taking care of me." I say.

"Shouldn't that had been your boyfriends job?" She asks.

"He's not my boyfriend." I say.

"Well whatever he was to you. The way I see it is that man had every right to be upset. How would you feel if you would've went to his house and saw another woman there?" She asks.

"It wasn't like that." I say.

"It doesn't matter how it was, it only matters how he saw it. And knowing you, you probably refuse to explain things to him right then and there." She says.

"I did." I say.

"If you feel something for this man then you need to call and straighten it out." She says.
