My Hero: Chapter 4

The octolings moved to ground high enough for us to see them. "Surrender now!" Captain Cuttlefish announced. "If you do not, we will show no mercy!" The leader of the octolings stepped forward, "We'll see about that.." The evil grin on her face was intimidating. Sara buried her face into Matty's chest, and he put and arm around her. "Don't worry" he whispered. "Everything's will be okay." After a few minutes of banter and insults, the octolings challenged the inklings to a turf war! Matty and Sara for into their assigned positions as the countdown began.
10...9....8...
Sara looked at the other team
7...6....5...
Matty looked at Sara
4...3....2...1...
GO!
The battle began and the inkling team was covering lots of ground! The octoling hadn't covered much at all... What? How come they haven't covered the area near their base? Wait-where are they?! Sara's thoughts were interrupted by a beautiful woman standing in front of the team. All the inkling girls must have been jealous, and they boys star struck. The girl had long wavy tentacles that ran down her back, a perfect body figure, with curves in all the right places. She wore a tight black tank top and shorts, which she looked amazing in. There was only one thing wrong with her..... She was the leader of the octolings!!! The team all were stopped on their tracks. She began "As you can see, we octolings have very different strategies then you, hehehe... GIRLS! GO AHEAD!" The rest of her team popped out of the purple ink in front of the inklings. The girls shot down most of the team members, except for Matty and Sara. The two turned back to look at the spawn point, and saw the team-not there?!!? Where was everyone?? Why didn't they respawn? "What did you do to our friends!" Matty angrily yelled, "Yeah!" Sara chimed in. " why are they taking so long to respawn?!!" The octoling leader spoke "Our guns aren't for babies, they kill....for real." Matty and Sara were shocked and more afraid then ever! The octolings went to cover ground except for the leader. She pointed her gun directly at Matty and Sara. "I've decided I'll only kill one of you, just so the other can share our little killing spree with your other friends. To make it fair I'll let you decide. So, who's going to die?" The cheerful way she said it disgusted the two, but there was no way to escape. Only one of them would make it out alive. Matty pulled Sara in for a giant hug and kissed her passionately. "Go. I have to do this. I couldn't live without you." "Matty! No!" Sara said crying. "I love you so much! You can't die! Not here, not like this!"  Tearing up Matty gave her his final smile. "Promise me you'll be careful, I can't have your back anymore." Sara thought back to the first time they met... "Promise me you'll be more careful next time..." Interrupted by the octoling girl, Sara's flashback disappeared. "Oh how tragic! Poor Matty is gonna die ahaha!" Well I'll make it quick then, any last words boyfriend?" "Sara.....I'll always lov-" the sound of a gunshot interrupted his words. Matty opened his eyes, but what happened? He wasn't shot! Did the octoling spare his life? He smiled but then looked to his side.... Sara, now covered in purple octoling ink, fell to the ground. "SARA!! NO, NO!" Matty began to sob. "I-I said I'd protect you but I....I couldn't protect you...I'm sorry." Sara looked at him in a little pain, "it's not your fault... I jumped in front of you. Remember? I owe you one for the day you saved me in battle!"
Matty thought back to that day
Matty's pov of that day:
When the battle began, I looked at the other team to see who I was up against...no one special really, except for her! It's the girl who bumped into me this morning! I'm so happy to see her again! The battle began and my team was covering ground swiftly. I headed to the center of the Kelp Dome, but I was too late! The rest of my team had been splatted, and I was next... BAM! I was shot and began to respawn on my base. Looking below, I saw the beautiful girl with green hair and vibrant pink eyes. My team had her surrounded, what do I do?? "Wait!" I yelled and ran over to them. I used the excuse of he other teams advance and they eventually ran off. It was just me and her, she was afraid. But damn...did she look cute when she was afraid. Her eyes sparkling, the wind blowing her tentacles slightly. She murmured "you, aren't going to kill me?"
Sara looked at Matty for one last time. " I love you Matty, but please do me one thing..." "Anything!" Matty said, not being able to control his tears. "Promise you'll never forget me...promise you'll always love me!" The two were both sobbing hard. "I promise." Matty leaned in to kiss her. As their lips touched, Sara disappeared.
