You said that you wanted
To keep an air of mystery
Around yourself
But I think you were scared
To let people disappoint you
So you were careful to
Raise your hopes. You said that you didn't
Trust anybody.
You didn't trust me.
Truly you just wanted
Someone to vie for the
Prize you thought you had.You said that I didn't
Appreciate you enough
Honestly, you should
Have checked your ego
At the door. You said we were friends
And clearly that wasn't true,
Because look at us now
Split like a fork in the road
Permanently diverged from one.
