sixty seconds
70 stories above ground
whirring gears
the only sound
I hear.
fifty five seconds
my parka, your parka
squished into infinite time and space
squished into
forty nine seconds
we are made of stars
together we'd be galaxies
shoulder to soul
interstellar elevator through the cosmos
thirty six seconds
the ceiling shines
my heart shines brighter
your eyes shine brightest
it is dark.
thirty seconds
tears.
our galaxies
will never be
like this again.
twenty one seconds
"guess who
i'm squished next
to?"
in the time of the legume
nineteen seconds
until my perfect world
trapped in that elevator
is gone
along with our constellations
sixteen seconds
do you remember this
like I do?
fourteen seconds
do you hear
that through the silence
this is me
falling in love with you
ten seconds
I love you
five seconds
I'll miss you
one second
this isn't goodbye, but it feels like it.
~you have reached ground level~
