Ten years later...
"Matt! Can you get the door?" Ava yelled as she did up the zip on her black cocktail dress. She heard the murmur of conversation from down stairs and headed out of her room. She padded barefoot down the stairs and smiled as she saw her brother arriving with Joy, their ten year old, Max, the eight year old twins, Emma and Ella, and Millie, five and Jason, three. Ava smiled as little Millie came running up to her.
"Hey Millie." She said as she swung the little girl up and hugged her.
"Hey Sis." Mason said as he joined their little hug. Ava hugged him back before placing Millie back on the ground.
"MUM!" Ava spun as her ten year old daughter Lizzie came running up to her, her pretty white dress had a massive mud stain in the middle of it.
"James threw mud on me!" Lizzie yelled as she ran into the nice clean living room, tracking mud along the hard wood floors.
"First, go to the laundry and clean your feet then go get another dress on. I'll deal with James." Ava said as she kissed her daughter on the forehead. Ava watched her daughter run up stairs without washing her feet. She sighed and shook her head before turning to the rest of the party that had assembled.
"Mathew!" she yelled out and he rounded the corner with their three year old twins, Gabbie and Gavin, in his arms.
"Your oldest son is throwing mud again." She said sweetly and managed to grab the twins as Matt raced out to the back yard. Five years ago they moved out of Ava's apartment into a three story family home, craving the much needed space and the massive back yard.
"Ava!" she turned as Holly raced over to her. Holly's husband Jeremy was holding their two year old son, Jeremy Junior, as he happily followed his crazy wife. The two friends embraced and caught up on what had happened in the last few weeks.
"'Scuse me Ladies, I need a minute with my wife." Matt said as he wrapped his arms around Ava's waist from behind her. Ava smiled to Holly and Holly winked at her before Matt pulled her into his office. Matt pushed her up against the closed door and smashed his lips to hers. Ava ran her hands through his hair and pulled him closer.
"We can't do this now, Mattie. We have a house full o-" Ava was cut off as Matt kissed her. A knock on the door forced them apart.
"Come one love birds. This is you anniversary party. Get out here." Ava laughed as she heard Holly call through the door. Matt sighed and placed his forehead on her shoulder.
"Tonight?" he asked as he stood up straight. Ava smiled and kissed him quickly.
"Tonight." She confirmed before they opened the door and stepped out into the happy atmosphere of their friends and family. A big smile stretched across her face as her eyes took in the happy children as two of Dougie's kids ran passed her being chased by her own eight year old son James.
"James!" Matt bellowed as he watched his son run passed him. Ava smirked as Jams froze mid run and slowly turned back to his father.
"Did you throw mud at Lizzie again?" matt said in a stern tone and Ava almost lost it as her son's face turned a pale colour.
"She started it!" James quickly yelled before he sprinted off, Matt hot on his heels. Ava finally let out the laughter she was holding in before heading to the kitchen. The timer went off and she took out the roast pork and chicken.
"Dinners ready!" she yelled as Joy, Holly, Dougie's wife, Emmy, and GP's boyfriend Timmy, came into the kitchen to help carry everything out to the deck and the massive table the boys had set up out there earlier. Ava was the last out as she carried the Roast pork in a tray. Everyone was settled at the table and the kids all had small amounts of veggies and salad already on their plates. She placed the Pork in the middle of the table near matt so he could cut it up. He grabbed her before she could leave and pulled her on to his lap.
"I love you." He said in her ear.
"I love you too." She whispered back before kissing his cheek.
"Yes we all know you love each other. It's no coincidence you both met." Holly said with a smirk as she cut up JJ's food.
"Coincidence. Definitely not." Matt whispered to her as he kissed her again.
