Slowly I walk along
Waiting
Ever so, waiting for
Something to happen
But nothing will
So I continue onI stop and stare
Up at the dark sky
Up at the stars
I want to wish
But know that
None will come trueSo here I go
Walking along
Listening for a car
To drive by
So I can jump
In front.I continue to walk
Walk along this paved road
To nowhere in particular
Maybe hoping
That someone will stop
And ask me what's the matterBut no one will
Because I'm crazy
You can see it in my eyes
I feel it pumping
Through my veins
And in my bloodI hear a noise
It makes me jump
It's a rabbit
Bouncing on through
Without a care
In the worldGoing on
I hear another noise
But it's soft
Not too loud
But loud enough
I go onThe sound becomes
Louder
I put my hand on my ears
What's the noise
I still can't tell
Maybe voicesAnd then another noise
It's on it's way
The car is on its way
And as it comes into view
I jump in front
And I lay there
A S L E E P
