"You did WHAT?" Linda yells. I flinch because she usually doesn't yell. I told everything about Diablo to Ally and she told everything to Linda.

"It was an accident! I was just trying to give him an apple." I protest, "Besides, how was I suppose to know that I wasn't supposed to be in there?"

Linda groans. While I have the chance, I run outside and jump onto Star. I dig my heels into his side then canter out of the barn (which is totally unsafe.)

I ride to a secret place that I found when I live with Linda the first time. It's off of the trail in a little clearing about a mile away from the canyon.

Somebody had put a bird bath there, nearly hidden in all of the flowers. I would go here whenever I was feeling sad.

About thirty minutes later I ride back to the barn. When it comes into sight my heart sinks to my stomach.

At the front are police cars and Linda being put into one. You would think that I would ride away, but I don't want the horses being taken away.

I sneak into the barn and lead them out. I take them down the trail and tie them up two miles after it ends, where we have a place to let them eat and drink water.

There is a post to tie them with a feeder at the top. Water trough's are at the bottom, high enough that they can reach it when they are tied.

Now, I have to go back. I don't want Linda getting punished for something that I did. I run back to the ranch and let the police take me away.

Linda and I get our own cell because, I'm a kid, and she's kind of like my mom and we don't want to be in a cell with murder Mike and Psychopath Pat.

We have to go into court to prove our innocence. I've gathered all of the evidence I can get and give it to Linda's lawyer.

I just hope that it'll be enough.
