Epilogue

A month has passed since the show. A lot has changed since then. For instance: I started homeschooling, Meadow will be trained soon and I've competed a lot more. It's hard to believe  that all of these things are over.

I walk outside and let the cool autumn air hit me. All of the trees have turned vibrant red, yellow and orange colors. The grass has shriveled up and turned a olden-brown, which the horses aren't too interested in eating now.

As I enter the barn, many horses poke their head out of their stalls. I halter Dream and lead her out to tie her to the hitching post. I get Buck and Star out too and tie them onto the opposite post, then Diablo and Meadow.

Afterwards, I take them all out to the arena and turn them loose. I watch them, sitting on the mounting block. Diablo does an elegant trot around me, while Star and Buck play with each other. I laugh at their attitudes toward each other, just like brothers. Dream does her best to avoid the horses and goes over the jumps, but Meadow doesn't trail far from behind her.

Diablo continues the very exquisite trot he was doing before. His midnight black coat standing out in the fall colors. I walk over to him when he stops. He eyes my pocket, looking for treats. I pull out a small mint and give it to him.

Pretty soon, all of the horses are looking for some. As I look at all of my horses, I know that I would be so lost without them. They are my comfort. They give me wings that I lack.

It's a perfect ending, to one perfect story.

A/N

Heyooooooooooooo. It's the end. *wipes away tear* I will write and publish Meadow very soon. Besides that, I won't be publishing a new book until I finish High Hopes. I love this book so much.

Horse question of the day:

Proudest moment with horses? I think it would be when I got Dream.
