Shaylin has been acting strange lately. I don't know what's up, but I know I'll have to talk to her about it. I've been taking Meadow to the lake near the wild horses lately. She loves to swim. Diablo has been very good. He' not nearly as spooky as when I first started training him. He's practically mine now.
I've decided to ride all of my horses today. I tack up Star first and take him out to the jumping arena. I get on him and walk him around for a while. I then push him into a trot. He pins his ears back and kicks out, but I get him under control. I take him over a small cross jump.
He pops over it perfectly. I slow him to a walk and give him a pat on the neck. I work on flat work after that. I cool him off, then put him in his stall. I get out Dream and take her out bareback. When she's warmed up, I take her over a few 2'6 jumps. She goes over them perfectly and gives me no trouble.
I cool her of and put her away in her stall. I get out Buck and jump him bridle less in the arena. He had two refusals, but otherwise, he was great. I give him a treat after cooling him off ad I put him in his stall. Now it's time to ride Diablo.
I tack him up and take him out of the trail. He seems so much more relaxed here than in the arena. His ears perk forward and he speeds up a bit more. I give him a pat on the neck. Suddenly, a large booming sound comes from behind us.
Diablo takes off at top speed. I attempt to stop him, but it fails. He starts to buck the highest he ever has. He spins to the right and I fall off, my back hitting a tree. After that, nothing. Only the slight sound of hoofs hitting the ground.
I can only see shadows, but to my surprise, one approaches me. Maybe help, but right now I can't bear to know what happens next, so I just space out.
