The Tour

Chapter 3- The tour

"Emma, come on, we gotta hit the road now if we're gonna make it on time!" my dad shouted.

"I'm coming!" I shouted back.

I grabbed my suitcase and backpack, and ran down the stairs. Hannah and Whitney were already waiting in the car with my mom. "I'll never understand why women take so long to get ready."dad said. 

"Sorry, i couldn't find my camera. Let's go." i said

Dad loaded my suitcase into the trunk of his van, we climbed into the car and took off. We were headed to Michigan for the Campus tour and we were so excited. "I wonder if we will see some of the Starkids there. I think some still go there." Hannah said. 

"I'm not sure. All of the best have graduated." Whitney said. 

"I wanna see the stage where they put on the musicals." I said. 

"Yeah!' we said at the same time.

We turned on our ipods and listened to AVPM. The car ride took 3 hours but we finally made it to our hotel by campus. My parents had gotten two rooms so we wouldn't bother them. We checked in and  went to our rooms. When I opened the door, Hannah rushed in and fell onto one of the beds. Whitney rushed to the bathroom and I set my suitcase down on the bed next to Hannah. "I can't believe we are here, just minutes from where Starkid first started. Pinch me!" I shouted. 

Hannah got up and pinched my arm, and laughed. I squealed and got my stuff out of my suitcase. We got our dolls out and set them on the beds. I got my laptop out and sat down at the table. I turned it on and typed up an entry for the blog on my Joey fansite:

                             Hey fellow Joey lovers! It's August 23 and i am at a hotel by University of Michigan with two of my friends. We are touring the campus tomorrow and hopefully we will have something exciting to tell you afterwards. We are planning on seeing the exact stage where the Starkids put on AVPM and AVPS. We will post some pics tomorrow night for you guys. Laterz!

"Emma, wanna go with us to Chipotle?" Whitney asked.

"Sure, how far is it?" I asked.

"Just down the street." Hannah said.

We grabbed our keys and purses, and went to get some dinner. I texted my mom so she would know. Chipotle was 3 buildings away and it was a little chilly outside. We walked fast so the cold wouldn't bother us. We got inside, ordered our food and sat down. We stayed at Chipotle for hours talking about tomorrow. It was getting late so we walked back to the hotel, keeping close to each other. 

The next morning, we got up early and prepped ourselves for the campus tour. My parents got up and hour later and soon we were out the door and headed to campus. We were so excited that we were practically jumping in our seats in the car. We looked like a trio of crazy 19 year olds. We arrived on campus, signed in and started the tour. Our guide was a student named Kris. She took us all over campus, showing us everything from dorms to classrooms. "So what are guys planning on majoring in?" she asked.

"We wanna go into theater." Hannah said. 

"Oh cool, some of my friends are theater majors." Kris said.

"Really? Do any of them happen to be Starkids?" Whitney interupted.

"(laughs) Yea, just two of them. They graduated last year. Meridith and Chris." she answered.

"I've never heard of them." I said.

"Well, they havent done much with Starkid productions yet. But i heard Starkids are working on a new project." Kris said.

"Way cool!" Hannah said.

Kris took us to the Arts building and showed us around. "Anything in particular you guys wanted to see?" she asked.

"Umm, the theater where AVPM was performed?" I asked. 

"Sure, its this way." Kris said 

We went through a double door entrance and saw the stage and all its glory. Hannah and Whitney ran down to edge of the stage while Kris and I sat down in the front row. I took out my camera and took pics of the stage. There were lights flashing from our cameras all over the place. "Your friends are very enthusiastic." Kris said. 

"Yeah, I'm a bit more mellow then they are.Unless i see Joey Richter then i turn into a crazed fangirl (laughs)." I said. 

"Ah i see. How long have been into theater?" she asked.

"Since 5th grade. I was in a performance of Wizard of Oz, I played a munchkin. I had some much fun that i kept acting. I joined the choir in middle school and found i have a great singing voice." i said.

"Well, think you three will get along great here. You should text me sometime, we could be great friends." Kris said.

We exchanged cell numbers and found Hannah and Whitney on the stage pretending to be in AVPM. We headed back to the main building where my parents were talking to an advisor. We shared facebook names and i told Kris about my fan site. We all took a picture together before we left, it was a great day. When we got back to the hotel i got on my fan site and uploaded the pics we took. I sent Kris a message on facebook and we talked for a little while. I can't wait to start my college life here.
