Pan's P.O.V
As soon as I sent Felix and the other Lost Boys running after Antoinette, I took to the sky. I knew where she would end up. I followed her trail and landed just as she turned the corner. I quickly ran into the foliage and hid myself. I heard her trip and grunt so I knew this was the chance I'd been waiting for. I quickly grabbed her arm and pulled her into the bushes. I noticed she had cut herself on her cheekbone. "Who are you?" she asked cautiously "That's not important." I replied. She seemed taken aback by my accent for a second and then she regained her caution. "Are you a Lost Boy?" she asked again. "I was, but I escaped. And now they're after me too." I lied. "How did you escape?" I'd never met anyone who asked so many questions at once. "No time for questions, we need to move." I grabbed her wrist and together, we ran into the night.
Antoinette's P.O.V
As we ran, I could tell we were getting deeper and deeper into the forest. I was scared that we were going to get lost. We had been running for quite some time when I asked, "Can we please rest for a minute? I'm really tired." The boy nodded at me and I sat down to catch my breath. "Did the shadow take you too?" the boy asked "Yes, I was sitting at my window when he appeared. I think Pan wants me." I replied. "If Pan sent for you, he wants you. And if Pan wants you he will get you." the boy stated. "Why does Pan want you?" The boy reached inside of his hankerchief and pulled out a small vial on a cord. "Pixie dust." He told me "I stole it from him. I thought I could use it to fly away, and go home. But it doesn't work. It's useless." I changed the subject by asking him a question. "We need a place to get away and hide. Are there any places to hide around here?" I asked looking around. "There's a place they can't track us. The Echo Caves. But it's far." Suddenly we heard distant shouts from the Lost Boys. "Lead the way."
Pan's P.O.V
We ran far and fast. I sent out the signal to Devon, one of the Lost Boys. He shot one of his arrows into the tree right in front of Antoinette and myself. "Whoa!" Antoinette exclaimed "They cut us off! They know about the caves, we have to go this way!" "Go!" I shouted. We ran through the bushes and dense trees until we reached a clearing. The edge of a cliff. We both stopped immediately so we wouldn't fall.
"Is there any other way to the Echo Caves?" said Antoinette frantically. "No! We're cornered." "I'll give them the pixie dust, maybe they'll let us live." "So what, you're just gonna give up?!" "We don't have a choice! They got us." "Wait a second. Pixie dust! It's our way out!" Antoinette said. She grabbed the vial off my neck and snapped the cord holding it on. She grabbed my arm and backed up. I knew what she was going to do next, but I couldn't let her know that I knew. "What are you doing?!" "Didn't you ever read the story? Everyone knows that pixie dust is for flying." "Don't you remember? The dust doesn't work!" "That's because you have to believe." "Well I definitely do not believe!" "That's okay. Because I do." And with that, she opened the vial and we jumped off the cliff and soared into the starry night sky.
Antoinette's P.O.V
As soon as we jumped, I felt a twinge of panic that it wouldn't work. But as I was thinking that, we lifted into the air. It was the most amazing feeling in the entire world. You felt like you could take on anything. Now I knew for sure I could take on those SATs. As we flew, I got an amazing view of this place, Neverland. I always knew it was a fairytale, I mean, I grew up reading about it! But I never in a million years would have guessed that it was real. I kept wondering about this place. Wasn't there supposed to be Indians and pirates? And what about Peter Pan? He's not supposed to be evil! I thought of every story I ever heard about Neverland. I thought about Wendy and Princess Tiger Lily and Captain Hook. My mind was wandering.
The boy suddenly tugged on my shirt pulling me out of my thoughts. He was pointing to a small clearing where we could land. We headed there, and made a hard landing on a very large root of a tree. "Ouch!" I exclaimed. I stood up and brushed off my sweatshirt and smoothed my long blonde hair as best I could. I looked up at the boy, who was already standing and told him, "See, if you believe, anything is possible."
"You couldn't be more right Antoinette."
I looked at him suspiciously and imediately put my guard up. "How'd you know my name? I never told it to you." He replied in his charming British accent, "Let's make it a game. A puzzle to solve." I gasped. "You lied to me! You are a Lost Boy, you work for Pan!" "Not exactly." He moved really close to where he was within an inch from my face.
"I am Peter Pan."
I started to become very frightened. "Why did you send for me?" I asked angrily. Pan spoke and walked around me in a circle to intimidate me. "For quite some time, I've sought something extremely important. Something more elusive than the greatest of all mysteries." "What is it?" "The blood of the one with Purest Heart. And when you took the pixie dust, Antoinette, and jumped off that cliff, I knew you were the one I've been searching for all this time." "You are the lucky owner of that very special blood. And now? You, and it, are mine." Pan walked over to a hollow tree and knocked on it. "Come on Boys!" Pan yelled. Lost Boys starting appearing from everywhere and they made a tight circle around me so I couldn't run.
"Let's play!"
