Pan's P.O.V
I sat there, looking up at the dark sky, collecting my thoughts. What was this feeling that kept bothering me? It couldn't be love. I hadn't felt that for a long time. But Antoinette.. she was different. She brought out the best in me. She could see the soul behind the demon. I should talk to her, see what she thinks of me. Maybe I wouldn't have to be this... monster she thinks I am. I made up my mind, I'm going to find Antoinette and talk to her.
I walked back to camp instead of teleporting, I wanted to think a bit more on things. As I walked back into camp, it was completely barren of people. The only person that was there was Antoinette sitting on a log, staring into the fire.
"Antoinette! I need to speak with you." I said, rushing over to her.
She stood up and looked at me with a grim look on her face. "Pan, I need to speak with you too." I cocked my head and looked at her. "That doesn't sound good." "Pan... these feelings that you have, they're not real." She looked down at her feet. "What are you talking about Antoinette, of course they are." "No Pan, they're not! Okay? I do not love you! I will never be with you."
I just stayed quiet for a minute. She couldn't possibly mean this. I can tell she feels something for me too. "Antoinette, this can't be true. I know you feel something too. It's there, you can't deny it." "Pan, just stop! Okay?! I feel nothing for you! And I never will! Now, leave me alone.." She sat back down and put her head in her hands. My expression changed. I was furious and heartbroken. I thought she felt something for me too. She broke my heart, and now I too am going to break hers.
I frowned and looked at Antoinette. "What's gotten into you Antoinette?" I asked. "Simple." She said. "I've chosen magic, instead of love." This doesn't add up. She can't possibly choose magic. She barely knows how to bring out the magic in her. "Magic? Really?" I chuckled and walked back and forth beginning to sound more like myself than I ever imagined. "You know, I was beginning to trust you Antoinette, and I even fell in love with you." I said as I laughed. "God, how stupid I am. But you know what? I've learned my lesson." I said. Antoinette was looking at me and I can't believe she actually doesn't know what's coming. I threw my hand towards her and threw her away from the fire as she landed face down on the ground, next to a tree. She jolted up off the ground and looked at me with narrow eyes. I knew she was angry now. Good. She clenched her fists and walked up to me, and before I knew it I felt a slap across my cheek. "How dare you Pan." She told me with fury in her voice. I just looked at her and held my cheek. She should know better than to touch me. Doesn't she know what I'm capable of? I wasn't about to let that slide. I backhanded her across the cheek, making her fall to the ground once more.
She lay there for a moment and then stood up. She looked at me with a questioning face. She raised her fist, but before she could cast the blow, I caught her wrist. "I wouldn't do that Antoinette." I said in a low and menacing tone. "Don't you know what I'm capable of?" She looked terrified and I released her arm. She backed away from me and proceeded to form a fireball in her open hand. I just chuckled slightly. "Oh Antoinette, you've known that you've had magic for all of five minutes, do you really think you can defeat me?" She said nothing, but threw the fireball at my face. I dodged it easily and formed one myself. I retaliated and it grazed her left arm. She yelped and grabbed it in pain. She looked at me with a dead stare in her eyes. "You are so dead Pan." "I'd like to see you try." I challenged. Before she could make a move, I caught her off guard and asked her a question. "Do you want to know the real reason you've always felt alone?" She looked at me and said nothing. I pointed at her with a cold, dead look on my face. "You're adopted Antoinette."
Antoinette's P.O.V
I stared at him. "What did you just say..?" I asked, short of breath. He crossed his arms and smirked. "You heard me." I gasped and staggered backwards. Part of me deep down knew that he was right and that's why I've always felt out of place. "What's wrong with being adopted?" I asked as I narrowed my eyes at Pan. "Easy, you're different. I bet even your parents didn't want you. I think they were right about that Antoinette." He replied, his words hissing between his teeth.
