One Hope In This World

Chapter 6

I decided to write this chapter in 3rd person. I felt it would be easier to write how everyone reacts opposed to just Piper's POV.

Third Person POV

Piper slowly opened her forest green eyes and looked around drowsily. Upon inspecting the shed, she noticed an unfamiliar figure in the corner. The shadow was hunched over sleeping. The brunette looked at the shed door and to her surprise, it opened. A very large man entered the wooden shed and undid the handcuffs that were restricting Piper's wrists. He pulled her up by the arm and dragged her out of the shed.

Piper was pulled out of the warmth of her shed into the crisp nighttime air. She shuddered as the large man made her kneel in front of him. Piper looked out in front of herself and saw Rick and the man with the crossbow standing mere inches away from her. The kneeling girl heard grunts behind her as the shadowed man was pulled out of the shed as well. The other prisoner knelt beside her.

Now that Piper was so close to the other prisoner, she got a better look at him. Their matching green eyes met, and they instantly recognized each other.

"H-Hunter?" Piper gasped, staring at the man to her right. Hunter blinked away tears from his eyes. The two siblings were finally reunited. Piper threw her shaking body at her brother and he held on to her and sunk to the grass. The two prisoners both cried tears of joy.

Rick, Shane, and Daryl both watched the two family members reunite. Rick couldn't help but smile as he watched the two of them hug each  other. One the other hand, Shane was boiling from anger. Placing a hand on Piper's small shoulders, he yanked her off her brother.
Piper slowly got back into a kneeling position and glared at Shane. 

After a long silence, Rick was the first to speak up, "Was this the brother you were looking for, Piper?" He asked curiously. Piper and Hunter both nodded quickly and Shane sighed. The buff man ran his hands over his head roughly.

"Can you just let us go man?" Hunter finally asked. Shane groaned and signaled Daryl for help to take Hunter to the shed. The two men grabbed roughly on Hunter's shoulders as he was dragged to the shed.

Piper looked up at Rick with pleading eyes. Rick just shook his head and helped her up. Rick and Piper's eyes locked. "Come on, let's get you fed while they sort this out." The former officer said quietly.
