Your eyes open to the light shining in through your curtains, blinding you. You look over to Mark cuddled next you, still asleep. How did I get so lucky? No one has ever stayed by my side this long, but he never left. He was always there for me. Why?
I sit up, then feel arms grab my waist and pull me down again. "Well good morning, beautiful." Mark mumbled in his deep, sleep filled voice.
I giggle. "Good morning, handsome." I run my hands through his hair, laying by his side, while his arms wrap around my waist, pulling me closer. Then my smile fades. Why did he stay, though? I'm nothing special.
"Whats wrong?" Mark looks at me with consern.
I sigh. "Everybody always leaves me after a while. You never did. You stayed. Why?"
"Because I love you." He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
I sat up again, him sitting up with me. "But why?"
He cupped my cheek and looked into my eyes, smiling. "Because I love you. I love your smile, I love your eyes, I love your face, I love your hair, I love your smell, I love your laugh, I love when you cuss out videogames, I love when you're happy, I love when cuddle me, I love the sound of your heartbeat, I love you. I love everything about you. I love all your flaws, and imperfections. I always have, and I always will."
I smile, and hug him. "I love you too. I love your smile, your eyes, I love your face, I love your floof, I love your smell, I love your laugh, I love when you get angry at videogames, I love when you're happy, I love when you cuddle me, I love the sound of your heartbeat, I love you too. I love everything about you. All your flaws, and imperfections. I always have, and I always will. I love you."
We pulled away from the hug, I cup his cheek, kissing him. He chuckles. "I feel like we just said our wedding vows." I laugh. "Best wedding vows ever."
He holds me against his chest, and I hear his heartbeat. It's like it always had its own song. Like a rythm. It was soothing.
"I love you. Always have, always will."
