How Could You?

Mason's POV

It's been nearly a week since Rivers gave me that love potion. I still can't believe she did that to me. She was my best friend! Best friends don't do that to each other ever. I've never been so mad in my life let me tell you. All this time I've managed to avoid her and I'm not sure if I want to talk or see her again in this lifetime. It just makes me so upset. For one thing we've been best friends since we were babies. Our parents are even best friends. Merlin if I told my dad what she did he would blow a gasket for sure. Shaking my head in disgust I was passing by a classroom when I heard crying. I stopped short listening to see if I knew who it was. I couldn't tell so I opened the door to peek my head in.

Looking in I saw a girl that looked similar to Rivers. Frowning I was about to step back when I got pushed in suddenly from behind and a lock clicked. "What in the world?" I said out loud. The girl turned when I realized I was right. That is Rivers.

"Mason? What are you doing here?" she asked me.

"I'm not. Well I plan on getting out of here now," I said as I jiggled the knob. It wouldn't turn.

"Oh so now you can't stand to be in the same room as me? Am I that hideous?" I heard her crying still.

"No you're not hideous! Don't say that." I continued to pull at the knob to no avail.

"Then why have you been avoiding me? Tell me that!" Wow she sure sounded mad.

I pulled out my wand forgetting that I had it. Pointing it at the lock I said "Alohomora!" Apparently there was some sort of shield because it didn't work. Oh no now I'm locked in here with Rivers.

"Mason! I said why are you avoiding me!" Rivers yelled at me.

Turning towards her I growled. "Why? You gave me a love potion! If my dad knew you did that you would be in so much trouble you wouldn't even have time to say quidditch."

"You know I'm not scared of your dad!" she snorts and I cross my arms.

"I know you're scared of your mother. If my dad talked to her you would be so screwed."

Rivers face turned red. "Don't you dare Mason! You might just get yourself into another love potion. Not with me but with Malfoy."

I couldn't believe she just said that. My eyes narrowed at her but really all I can see is red. Immediately I grabbed her by her shirt collar getting in her face. "Don't you even think about it," I hissed.

"You know this is all your fault! If you loved me to begin with none of this would have happened."

"Loved you? You're joking right? You were supposed to be my best friend! Not my girlfriend." I shook her getting angrier. At any moment I swear I could hurt her. The thought of that made me drop her.

I could hear her growling as I turned my back on her. Again I tried the knob but it still wouldn't open. Merlin these blasted things! The next thing I knew Rivers was on my back.

"Bloody Merlin Rivers! Get off of me!"

"No! Not until you say you love me."

"I don't love you! I never loved you! You're the one with a sick imagination. Now get off of my back!"

Her fingers clawed at my shoulders as I tried to buck her off. I never realized she was so strong. "Alright I give! Now get off."

"You didn't say you love me. Say it!"

She's really pushing my buttons now. I don't love her nor will I ever love her. I can't believe Rivers ruined everything over a silly crush.

"Just get off of me will you? I would rather say it to your face."

Hearing her sigh she jumps down before I turn to face her. Rivers is looking at me patiently. "Well?" she asks.

"I-I-I......" before I can get another word out her lips are on mine.

River's POV

Standing there waiting for him to say he loves me took forever. I know he does otherwise he would have found a way out of here already. We know each other well.

"I-I-I......" was all he got out before I couldn't take it anymore. Leaning in I kissed him with all of my might nipping at his bottom lip. Clutching the bottom of his shirt I kissed him harder keeping my lips on his wanting him to kiss me back. The next thing I knew I was against the wall my shirt being pushed up as he devoured my mouth. I finally broke him!

Throwing my arms around his neck I kissed him passionately not wanting to stop. I can feel his hands travel up my bare back and I moan into the kiss. His tongue licked the corner of my mouth so I opened mine letting my tongue tangle with his. Merlin this felt amazing. Keeping my eyes closed I felt shivers run up my spine wanting Mason more than ever.

All too soon the moment ended as he pulled back letting me drop to my feet. My breathing ran ragged and I could hear Mason breathing really heavy. Looking up at him I could see the desire in his eyes. That ran another shiver through me imagining what other things he could do to me.

"Maybe I was wrong," he whispered. I wasn't sure if he was talking to me or himself.

"About what?"

"Maybe I do love you. I don't understand how or why but it's possible."

My heart filled with joy at those words. He loves me! My Mason loves me! It took so long but this moment finally came. I smiled wide feeling so happy.

"Oh Mason. I've loved you for 2 years. I never wanted to risk it before because I was afraid. Our friendship meant so much to me. I hope it's not ruined now."

He gives me this look that pierces right into my soul. God I love him so much. I'm so glad I never gave up on him. "Mason?" I whispered.

Mason comes closer to me again and sweeps me up into his arms. A squeal comes out of me as my arms go around his neck again. "Mason what are you doing?"

"I'm taking you somewhere private." He winks at me as I blush.

I hold onto him tighter before noticing we were going towards the Shrieking Shack. "Really? Why here?"

"This is the only place I know no one will disturb us," Mason said as he laid me down on a small cot before hovering over me.

"Now for the magic," he says as I giggle feeling him start to strip me.

"Mason I'm a virgin," I get out quickly.

"I'll go slow," he whispers as he takes me to heights I never imagined.

Soon after I'm tangled in his arms and legs smiling to myself. I'm so glad we finally made up and that he really loves me. Watching him sleep I smooth down his hair kissing his forehead. I just know this is the beginning to our happy ever after.

I'm so sorry guys that this took so long to get out! I had a major case of writers block. A good friend of mine gave me this idea so I took it and ran with it. I hope you all enjoyed it! Don't forget to vote! Also comments are more than welcome!
